By Chris Phillips. Chief sports reporter.

SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher never doubted Noor Husin would find his best form this season.

Husin bagged Blues' first goal in their 2-1 win against Aldershot Town at Roots Hall on Tuesday night.

And Maher was thrilled to see the midfielder score his first goal of the season.

"I'm delighted for Noor because he's taken a while to get going this season," said Maher.

"I keep saying he didn't have a pre-season but he's such a good player.

"His all-round game is excellent and we always know he can add goals.

"When he arrived on the edge of the box that composure was brilliant from him."

"But I believe he's got goals in him because he shows that composure in training.

"It was a great finish from the edge of the box too."

Noor unfortunately is one of a few that appears to have regressed somewhat this season. I hope he and the others can rediscover that spark that made them the first on the team sheet last season. If not, then perhaps they need to be moved on?
