Herts_Cobbler concedes Play Off defeat

The Football League clearly do not want NTFC to go up

The second leg ref is one Phil Crossley.

Mr Crossley was in charge of the second leg last season at Mansfield and two spectacular inadequate decisions, cost us the game.

Do you have any issues with him?

BTW First leg ref is Lee Mason.

we've had issues with all the Refs this season!

Mr Crossley is special though

Picture the scene, the Cobblers are 3-0 up (3-2 on agg).
Eric Sabin and Alex John-Baptiste go in to a tackle both two footed. They end up in a heap, play on.

Sabin quickly is to his feet and he is then triped off the ball by Tom Curtis. Curtis already on a yellow card, must be in peril.

Crossley now blows up. Rather than book Curtis and dismiss him, he then decides to be on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

First of all he decides to Ask the Audience (well Keith Curle) before cheating and phoning two friends, both linesmen.

He then decided to award a free kick for the earlier collision, and do nothing with Curtis.

Resulting free kick, not cleared, ball falls to Mansfield player, goal Tom Curtis

Last seconds of normal time - Derek Asamoah enters the area at full speed and is blatently fouled (even the Stags admitted it).

Crossley bottles it and waves play on.

This man is the most unpopular ref ever - we have had him one game since and he was heckled for 90 minutes.

To be fair though, thats what weve been doing what with the penalty that never was Vs Scunny and the disallowed goal Vs Mansfield.

Don't you believe it. When has a ref ever really worked in our favour? He will be feeling guilt-ridden over his earlier inadequacies, and will bend over backwards to make it up to the Cobblers.

lee mason was the ref when we lost to oxford away a few games ago.

when he ref's our games we always lose!

according to Ratetheref.com Lee Mason is in the bottom 15 refs reviewed

Communication 2.79
Consistency 2.68
Control 2.89
Fairness 2.81
Fitness 3.04
Flow 2.60
Positioning 2.92
Total 19.73 (out of 30)

Penalty 1 75 min
Red Card 2 11 min
Yellow Card 76 54 min

He has reffed a lot of championship games whose fans rated him fairly well but the 3 or 4 League two games he has reffed he has been marked very low.

I seem to remember Crossley being in charge of the 2nd leg against Bristol Rovers and being pretty good.

I sense through that 'lingo' you're talking about Mr J Singh. I seem to remember him being pretty poor at the Hall earlier this season.

Dont worry, every ref is poor against us!

ALL WE WANT IS A DECENT REFEREE!!
You wouldn't have thought it would be that hard to find a decent referee but its seems almost impossible.
