Recently got a new all singing all dancing pc. I have downloaded loads of movies to my hardrive , but cant seem to burn them to dvd-r. Can anybody tell me what application i need to download and how to put onto disc that plays in a dvd player?

Thanks

Downloaded as what - avi/DivX or DVD rips?

DVD rips, just get a copy of Nero or equivalent, copy, and watch. Just make sure you get the right type of DVD - most players (I think) will play DVD+R, not all play -R.

If it's computer files, DivX etc, unless you've got a player (like the Yamada, amongst others) that plays them then you need to convert it to a DVD file first. Off the top of my head I can't think what software you need for that (don't think Nero does it for DVD's like it can convert wma/mp3 into CD's) but will find out.

You'll need a bit of software ro convert them from DivX to DVD format, I recommend "VSO convertxtodvd" and then once it is converted to DVD format you'll need something to burn the DVD Video files, I recommend Nero.

Basically it's a piece of urine.... you select the video file(s) you want to burn, add the menu, and then hit "burn"... for a Microsoft program it's suprisingly good :D
