Chaps,

Please help!

I have lots of .csv files with a 4 digit number amongst the filename. eg (Yss0104xad.csv)

Within the various.csv files is a load of data. Now, I need to take this 4 digit number from the filename and append it to the first line of the data within each file, preferably automatically if that makes sense?

I aint got the foggiest where to start. Any pointers?

Alternatively, if anyone can knock up some sort of application to do this for me. I'll bung a few quid your way...

Any serious chaps willing to help, drop me a PM and I can sort you a copy of one of the files, so you can get a feel of the requirements.

Yours in hope,
Smiffy.

something tells me you might be in the wrong job?

Quite possibly.

Unfortunately, I am now having to do things with data I have never done before, so it's all a bit of a nightmare.

Still, learning curve an all that.

Oi, Smiffy, any danger of answering my message you nutter?!? lol. Check your PM's

Back on topic.

Anyone able to lend some assistance?
