Have you not been watching?......has not got one assett other than clapping everyone, would make a better cheer leader!
We have got to Wembley despite him, why can't people be honest?
Hasnt Colln kept clean sheets in 11 of around 20 games this season? This during the period we was towards the bottom half of the league and terrible at the back. Dont get the hate by some fans towards him, he is a great keeper at this level. I actually think Hayes has more mistakes in him than Collin.

I was talking about HAYES!

Hayes does the s***housery stuff much better, and there's no way he will or deserves to be dropped for the final, but I think if Colin has a good pre-season he will probably be the better number 1 going forward
I don't rate Hayes and I did have concerns going in to shoot-out with him, despite the fact he's only faced one penalty playing for us this season which was at Rochdale.

Of course he wasn't actually required to make a save, but I did comment at the time on some of his deliberate delaying tactics. Went behind the goal to drink out of his bottle each time, delaying each penalty. It can make a difference.

For next Sunday it will be Hayes I’m sure as Collin hasn’t played in a while and is obviously carrying some injury.

More generally Collin is a better keeper in my opinion. It a bit like the John White scenario when he was CB. People would say oh so and so is better, but whenever someone else came in JW soon replaced and them kept his place because he was clearly an upgrade.

When Jeacock came people said oh a better keeper, but he made all the same mistakes as Collin but more often, and was generally a downgrade. Went back to Lincoln and played well but that just re-enforced how good Collin is.

I think statistically he is our best ever keeper for clean sheets per games played?

He dived the same way for every penalty. He either doesnt fancy diving to his left or the intelligence on the FGR players penalty tactics was lacking. Could well be the latter I'd imagine the intelligence on 3rd choice and lower NL penalty takers is practically non existent - I certainly had no idea where Gubbins would stick the ball

In fairness Gus was clearly telling him to go right for Cardwell's pen.

Hayes may not kick that well but neither does Collin. He was better when Dave Martin was here last season but its not been great this season. Hayes commands his area way better than Collin and not frightened to claim a cross. They both have mistakes in them thats why they play at this level but then so do the likes of Allison and the city keeper. Its what it is as a keeper. But Hayes has the shirt and has played well so he should have the shirt for Wembley. Rumours Wednesday that Collin wants out in the summer anyway

TBF fair it was more that we were awful upfront. We havnt been battered by many teams but have lacked goals. Weve done well in the play offs as weve suddenly found our scoring boots as if you look at the goals conceded at Rochdale and FGR the defending was poor. Hayes has alos made some crucial saves no more so than the save low down right at Richdale just before HT

I agree it can look disrespectful, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's the lazy gene of not having to type and spell Andeng Ndi correctly.

Both Keepers have so much in their potential locker.

I agree with @crangoner post #35, Hayes does worry me getting done low, from headers or efforts at short range.

The longer distance stuff he does fine, and pulled of some decent saves at Rochdale from distance, as an example, which we needed.

But at balls coming from him at shorter range he has a tendency to lead the dive with his feet, which keeps his body higher in the dive.

Just from the current Play offs examples are Rodney's opener at Rochdale, especially when viewed from the side opposite us on RMB Vlogs video @ 6m 50s approx. Also, although very close, his reaction to both goals @ FGR he leads with his feet, instead of hands, which, for a keeper limits shot stopping ability.

If he can work on leading with hands and getting lower quicker, Hayes will be one hell of a 'Keeper to have at the club, but he does need to be given time to work on this area, as you are trying to break body habits and that whilst not being easy, is not impossible.

I wouldn't write Hayes off at all and he could develop into a very useful 'keeper, but I can see why he was released by Ipswich and Barnet.

Personally I would love a new number 1 with collin snapping at his heels as I feels Hayes isn't the big dominant keeper we need. But knowing how things work I'd say Hayes will start next season, and I have a horrible feeling we will be looking for a new number 2

A question I've been pondering. I like Hayes, but he is a weak link. We've scraped through despite, not because of, him. He doesn't save that much and could be more commanding. Collin's record at the start of the season speaks for itself. However, I think it's way too risky to bring him back in for Wembley. Hayes has good and bad days and he's due a good one. I trust him to rise to the occasion.
I’d go with Hayes personally, but I to admit he’s not quite as good as I thought he was because he’s outspoken in interviews and pumps fists and kicks posts. I think his communication with H and Ben is on the whole good and no doubt he’s better at coming for the ball than Colin. Colin’s okay as a shot-stopper but I think Hayes is better in every other department overall. Jaakkola as a sub-keeper will suffice in the interim but I do think Colin improved his game significantly when David Martin, and in turn dropped when he left for Ipswich. Think either an academy graduate or an experienced ‘keeper 35-40 should be a target in the summer and offload Colin.
