MatchID: 10444956
Arena: Shrimperzone F.C. Arena
Crowd: 7000

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 7000 at Shrimperzone F.C. Arena today. Shrimperzone started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Torrance - Ayling, Castellvell, Pearmain, Pottage - Pike, Afford, Winman, Beramendi - Arechi, Hart.

Cobblers! had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Harris - MacLellan, Stark, Grant, Venkatalakshmi - Gupta, Pradhan, Mills, Blake - Leach, Whitaker.

18 minutes into the game a free kick combination hooked into the box almost resulted in the home team taking the lead, but the last header went wide. The referee showed Cobblers!s Will Leach the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Cain Pottage the unlucky victim, couldn´t continue the game, so Aaron Johnson had to come off the bench. Many thought Óscar Castellvell ought to have been awarded a penalty shot in the 23rd minute, as he went down trying to circle the visitors keeper Ernest Harris. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 25:th minute goal by Tim Hart for Shrimperzone, putting them ahead 1 - 0. Aaron Johnson of Shrimperzone received a yellow card in the 34:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Shrimperzone´s Adam Winman got himself booked. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Shrimperzone, bringing the final ball possession rate to 81 percent, dominated the battle.

The referee showed Cobblers!s Harihaya Gupta the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Andy Pike went down after a savage challenge, but could keep on playing after some medical attention. 72 minutes into the game Charles Ayling had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. Shrimperzone put their lead ahead another goal as Giovanni Arechi struck home the 3 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. Óscar Castellvell wasn´t fit enough for a full game made several mistakes out of sheer tiredness. One of them was exploited by Brandon MacLellan who squeezed in 3-1. Adam Winman should probably have put his team up another goal in the 79:th minute, but some great goaltending by Ernest Harris kept the visitors in the game. Shrimperzone, bringing the final ball possession rate to 75 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating Shrimperzone player was without a doubt Nick Torrance. Brady Ashton was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Cobblers! player was without a doubt Christopher Blake. Matthew Mills on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.

The Shrimpers - Six Toe United  0 - 4

Date:  12/14/2003 at 18:00
MatchID:  10451488
Arena:  The Shrimpers Arena
Crowd:  8000

8000 spectators had come to The Shrimpers Arena this cloudy day. Shrimpers started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Clune - Ivy, Paterson, Hughes, Judge - Mason, McGovern, Anthony, Ankcorn - Axford, Curtis.

United started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Parsons - Murray, Tornsjö, Keenan, Balshaw - Choi, Jagpal, Gilligan, Summers - Matthews, Dove.

United's Aitcheson Dove scored 0 - 1 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net. After 18 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Maximilian Matthews who increased United´s lead to 0 - 2. 34 minutes into the game David Paterson had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Josh Charles. Joel Murray increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3. By now United were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. United came close to extending their lead as Joshua Keenan delivered a long range shot from the right but the angle was too sharp, and the shot hit the side of the goal. Aitcheson Dove could have put his team up another one in the 41st minute, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. 45 minutes into the game Joel Murray had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Cab Blades. Pierce Jagpal came close to extending the visitors lead as he, completely unmarked in front of the goal, lifted a ball over Jimmy Clune, hitting the bar. Aitcheson Dove of United received a yellow card in the 45:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 3. United, bringing the final ball possession rate to 74 percent, dominated the battle.

The visitors Maximilian Matthews took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 62nd minute. 0 - 4 for United. Alan Hughes behaved like an inexperienced youth player in the 65:th minute as he gave the ball away to an opponent. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Uniteds Cab Blades got himself booked after a foul. There was no way Shrimperss Allan Judge could continue to play after this, and no replacements were available! Maximilian Matthews was, after 79 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors lead with a well placed diving header but home side keeper Jimmy Clune saved. After the ball got lifted in from the left Maximilian Matthews was on his own in the home side´s penalty area 80 minutes into the game, and should have scored, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by United, with an impressive 87 percent possession of the ball.

Most important Shrimpers player was Joseph Curtis. However, Alan Hughes made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating United player was without a doubt Adam Tornsjö. Cab Blades on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.

Back in 6th now, after a 4-3 home defeat to the league leaders. Problem is, I told the players it was match of the season, so they're now "furious" in the team spirit stakes.

Will have to "play it cool" now in order to try and recover the team spirit... Don't know why I'm struggling so much, since the side is a good one.

Ah, but I finally sold a youth-team product that I didn't want to keep and got £30K for him!! Hurrah! Finally, some return on my investment.

Birri put themselves up 3 - 0 when Tim Perry broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. After an industrious effort down the middle John Pownall could have closed the game off in the 62nd minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. Irwin Fox of RAMS received a yellow card in the 79:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 82 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Birri. However, Kevin Dennis made a spectacular save. RAMSs Ian Hicks got himself booked after a foul. With 88 minutes played Doug Hutton could have brought this one home for Birri, had his hooked ball gone in, but it went just a bit too high. Most important Birri player was Gopikrishna Krishnan. Cliff Rushton on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important RAMS player was Neil Bryant. Michael Patel on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 0.

The only thing friendlies are good for is to make sure your entire squad is trained that is why it is in your interest to play the reserve team and not your first 11 Napster. Otherwise training will only effect 11 players.
