Unbelievable! The leaders managed to win against the 3rd placed team despite their manager not logging in since January and we s****ed a 1-0 win. Unfortunately another team banged 9 goals past the botted Stanley and slipped above me on goal difference. Leaves the table like this:

I believe Pouch will become a bot this week so I'm sure they'll lose to The Wolves. Penn play Chained who have set themselves to a walkover line up so they will win 5-0. So in order for me to win the league I'm going to have to beat the botted Stanley 9-0 to win the league!

I have an interesting week as well, managed to win 3-0 despite losing my star striker and another top midfielder, that is 3 midefielders this season that have ended up injured. :(

I won 2-0 so still at top, but the team that was tied on points with me lost, so I've pretty much won the league, even if I lose next week I still have a +12 goal difference, and he has tough game that I can't see him winning by more than a goal or two.

I lost 2-0 to the to team. I PICed it in the end to save myself for the qualifier..... D'oh! No way I can catch him now. The rest of the league are rubbish so he won't slip up now.

Won 2-1 away on a PIC against the team in 7th to ensure a play-off.

I can now PIC my final game of the season and should get a good crowd, although I play the team in 8th. I might even be in danger of finishing 4th and missing out on the extra training and cash.

Drew 1-1 at home to 3rd place team despite getting 208 hatstats to his 169 and 55* to his 41* :eek:

Think this was due to his 1 IM with nearly 250,000 TSI, as he managed a midfield rating 2 levels higher than me which is just stupid.

Anyhoo i play a bot team next week and a win will ensure auto promotion :D

On a more positive note there appears to be a bit of a bidding war for my best IM with current bid standing at £1,200,000 with an hour and a half left :D

Looks like a will be able to afford a decent English replacement at this rate

In spite of not paying it any attention for weeks, I smashed some other jokers this week making it 7 straight wins, 11 unbeaten and putting me, unbelievably, joint with the other guy at the top of the league.

As if that wasn't dramatic enough, I'm playing him next week at home needing a win for promotion (?). Don't know exactly how promotion works but i like the thought. On top of this, I have some very promising youngsters (one 17yo with excellent PM) and well over a million in the bank saved up. Potentially I reckon I could handle a promotion without disgracing myself.

MrB knows more about defence training (although I'd understand if you were reluctant to take advice on how to win games from him), but one of two areas need dramatic improvement - either your wings or your midfield and preferably both.

I'd suggest buying a world class inner midfielder who should make you competitive in midfield. Not sure the exact price, but I'd have thought you should be able to pick one up for less than a million.

Then with the rest of your money I'd recommend a winger to give you a threat down one of the wings. No higher than probably world class and I'd probably suggest a naked one (ie with no PM or passing) at this stage.

Did you counter attack? If you know you'll lose midfield and have a decent defence then always counter attack, you'll more than likely pick up 3 or 4 CA chances during the game. If you go down this route then you really need to strengthen your wing attacks to make the most of the CA chances.

Obvisouly they'll need Wing but what level?

Sorry for all the newbie questions but my team has been on autopilot for about 2 seasons now. Only changes I've made have been selling my outstanding/Brilliant defenders and replacing them with younger formidables.

I've upgraded my strikers to Outstanding with inad/pass passing.
And my Inner mids to Outstanding PM with pass passing.

But my team is still cack. Help!

Came back from me hols to see I had won 8-1 away to 2nd bottom but the top team won 9-0 so now even if I can beat him on MOTS this week he will still go up on goal diff :( but Buddy trout got 6 so that takes him onto 33 and clear top scorer by miles :)

Next time you upgrade your trainees go for a couple of 20 year olds with say magnificent playmaking and solid defending. You can then play them in midfield for your league games and in defence for your cup/friendly games (play them offensively). I'd then also go for a couple of say 19 year old magnificent or brilliant wingers with solid defence and train them up as well - you could play them, against teams with little wing, offensively to counter your own lack of wing-attack if you are playing 5-3-2.

Wing attack is mainly from wingers, but you can also get it from wing-backs (particularly played offensively) or forwards (played towards wing). I can't remember what passing does, but it probably contributes.

Wingers are the cheapest position to buy as they are the fastest training. They also have the cheapest wages. As you don't look to win midfield I think you really should use one winger to give you a boost on one side.
