I think you'll still have a relegation play-off, though, Steve.

Finished third.  The top placed team have gone up easily... but it's the second placed team in my league I'm worried about.  I managed to beat them, but only when playing a "Match of the Season"... and even then, it was still only 4-3 when at home.  They'll be a tough nut to crack this year, I reckon.

you will play a team that won there division but didnt acheive automatic promotion

Yup - Surrey Blue is right. You have to play a team from Level VI that won their league but, because their points total / goal difference wasn't good enough, they haven't been automatically promoted.

Beat that team and you stay up; lose to them and you go down...

Spiff, it is an internet based footie management game. It was created in Sweden and spans many countries. So you can organise friendlies all over the globe as well as buy players from all over. There are 6 levels and you are given a team either in div 5 or 6. It is free to play but if you pay £5 a calendar year- you get more out of it. Also there are a lot software designed especially for this game from 3rd parties. I currently use Hattrick Assistant Manager which also gives you more from the game.
