Guns n Roses - UK Tour

Aside from my disappointment of probably not making the Foo's gig on Saturday, I have managed to get tickets for Guns n Roses concert in July!

Anyone else going to go? I've heard they are still awesome and put on a great show. Sure it wont be the same without the full line up, but the songs remain the same - and some of the new stuff from Chinese Democracy is excellent...

Looking forward to this one!

That is if they actually turn up. Axl has been known once or twice to cancel the European dates.

So I will see what happens, of course I would love to go but cant be arsed to find out within 24 hours that it has been cancelled. He should have more respect for the fans.

Famously, he kept 80,000 people waiting at a stadium gig for 2 hours before arriving with his missus and saying "I was taking a shower dude."

I'm still devastated that I missed them at the Monsters of Rock festival in '88 - my folks took me on a holiday I desperately didn't want to go on while all my mates went to Castle Donington

. I'd lost interest by the time they played Wembley and now, well I just couldn't care less. A 44 year old W. Axl Rose fronting a bunch of journeymen musos really isn't my idea of G'n'f'n'R. Still curious to hear the album though...

Well I was likely enough to see them at the marquee in 87 and then again in 88 at Donington, the first was great but donington was the best, unfortunately two people died during their set.

I got caught in a car park for 4 hours whilst police tried to ascetain who the bodies were.

Finally got home about 6am to a very worried mother waiting for me. The days before mobile phones. Seems the 9 O'clock news on the Sat night had a carried a short story about the tradegy but of course at the gig none of us knew until quizzed by the police.

Go on admit you used to listen to G'N'R when you was at college.

Ok more a fact that Darren and myself forced you to listen to them as we listened to hardly anything other than Appetite. Of course Del could have bored you with Ozzy.

I was at the Wembley gig in 92 or 93 or whenever it was, it was a bit of a let down to be honest as Sky had shown the Paris gig a few days before it and the set list was exactly the same, even to the point that Rose said the same things between each song.  Kind of takes the surprise aspect away.  Soundgarden were good though.

Bah rumbled - yes I did own a copy of 'Appetite......' and, err, yes it was specifically your fault.

I remember many an afternoon sat in the Presidents office - havin a bit of a G'n'R sesh. Infact looking thru my rose-tinted glasses that album was probably the soundtrack the years 87-88.

Agreed, Soundgarden are one of my favourite bands ever. Never got to see them live either.

Have seen Audioslave though and Chris Cornells voice was completely awesome and mesmeric during that gig.

I saw them at The Astoria in 1990 (I think - Jason Everman had just left, Louder Than Love was out but it was well before Badmotorfinger). They were absoultely awesome.
