"Gun" incident at WHSB

Bit of an idiot tbh how old is he? Doubt he will get into many other schools now either WHSB is a good school to be in - how he will regret that
sorry if its a friend Dtm

crazy! To be honest I'm surprised he hasn't been expelled. I know it's not a 'real' gun but BB guns are still dangerous and he was obviously stupid enough to shoot some kids with it.

I was watching that and thought it wasnt a very good idea to have that type of storyline  I wonder if it may well have something to do with it

Highly likely I'd have thought - tv programmes do shoot themselves in the foot sometimes (no pun intended). Doesn't say how old the student was anywhere does it i.e. more impressionable?

Blaming TV is just a cop out for why kids do stupid (and sometimes extremely dangerous) things. The kid probably either went a bought a BB gun, or borrowed his brothers or something and then took it into school to show off. TV programmes often show frightening stuff which is actually extremely close to reality. I haven't seen this Waterloo Road programme, but gun crime and knife crime is a social issue, including in our schools. TV is reflecting society in this case. In any case, having been to WHSB, I think this kid was being incredible stupid, not trying to be a hard or involved in some gang.

It was literally in the episode the week before last, so I don't necessarily think it's a cop out. If you think so then that's obviously up to you, just seems likely that the idea could have been put there by the programme's content.

or the content of most rap music, or the content of most popular video games, or action films. There is plenty out there which seems happy to glorify gun/gang crime... it seems unlikely that a BBC drama dealing with serious social issues would have been it. From where I'm sitting it seems like pure coincidence.

Maybe, I know a lot of kids watch it though. It also had a "gangsta" type theme with the kid involved though so there could have been an identification with him. Only the kid involved will know for sure.

3 people were suspended when I attended WHSB for handling/firing a BB gun at a wall.

well take anything dangerous into a school or even a public place you should expect the worst outcome.. and thats a 'rafa benitez' fact!
