I'm not sure Gus can play a higher level, unpopular opinion right now as he's banging in the goals but other more coy teams will soon put a stop to that. But while the sun still smiles on him, i'm enjoying his golden spell and cheeky raport he shares with us. Good to see he has come on as a player under the 3 amigos, as do most of the squad that has time under their belts with SUFC.

I don't think Gus leaving in January is a a forgone conclusion. A wing back has to be able to defend and attack, and there is no doubt that the attacking instinct is there, but the defensive part sometimes lets him down.

If we are still no where in the league come January then we should leave it to the player if he wants to leave, then cash in, the money could do wonders for us the following season

We would probably be bottom two without gus's goals.

He is destined to be a league player soon. Unfortunately, SUFC won't be following him any time soon

Sadly his new contract probably included a low buyout clause as did Cardwell's. It probably took that to get our better players to re-sign. So whatever we think he's worth (a lot more than £100k in my opinion, at least £250k), someone will get him for whatever that buyout clause is.

I think Justin hinted there was no buy out clause?

I tend to agree with you. Gus would not be the same player playing as a traditional right back, as a wing back at this level he has few equals.
