Got to hand it to Southend they gave a great showing of themselves tonight and really dug deep and gave chelsea a brief scare , but in all fairness we were out done by a class act tonight .
Everyone of our players can be proud tonight and special praise goes to Grant who had a stormer of a first half and is a must for us in away games this season as he adds some steel and fight into the side .
Also though Clarke and Barrett were commanding and Herd and Sankofa are starting to look very promising . We need to apply this attitude to league games and we'll be fine .
Got out classed in the midfield but that was to be expected and our front 2 worked extremly hard but was chasing shadows .
Chelsea turned it on tonight as they huffed and puffed and after we'd given evrything we had the doors fell down which was a little dissapointing as we didn't deserve that scoreline for ouropure honesty and fight , also great noise from the hall when we were finally beaten .
If only we had got in at half time , what could of been , suppose we'll never know eh !!
