Someone has just posted on the Shrimpers e-mail list that Grant has gone to Wycombe.

Anyone else heard anything?

Literally seconds after I submit my list of ex-Southend players beginning with the letter 'A'....

According to the Wycombe tourist board, it is surrounded by some of the loveliest countryside in Southern England so he might have just fancied the day out.

I think he had a year loan there before his first loan spell with us.

Am I the only one who wouldn't actually be that fussed if he went and earned us a few quid?

Wycombe is a bit of a sideways move

Downwards I think. Southend have won the premier league (three times), the FA Cup (seven times) and the Champions League whereas all Wycombe have ever done is beat Leicester after a flukey long ball goal by Ray Essandoo way back in what, 1976?

He's a rollercoaster form player. Started last season brilliantly, before taking a huge dip and could hardly pass a ball. Regained a little bit of form before finishing very flat. To get promotion you need players in the engine room to be consistently good or better all season. So I personally would cash in if a very good offer came in.
Having said that, we will never forget how he stood by the club, when others jumped ship. So would love him to stay and become Mr consistent.
