Graeme Jones

The great Graeme Jones, what a guy, anyone know what he's up to?

I always remember his first ( and only? ) goal from my East Stand red section seat, he was having a hard time from the fans over his no goal tally and upon scoring mouthed the words "Now f**k Off ".

Saw him in the high st once with his wife and kids, probably on the breadline now god bless 'em.

He has been playing in the same Clyde team as another ex-Shrimper Alex Burns in the Bells 1st Division in Scotland.

He scored a few goals after first signing but then I think the old injury problems came back!

From www.donkeys365.com

Currently being touted around the continents biggest clubs by his agent Peter Hoolihan who describes him as having -
'The flair of Ronaldinho, the predator instinct of Micheal Owen and the marketability of David Beckham. Whoever signs Graeme will immediately make themselves firm favourites for next season's Champions League'

Possibly

Blimey, is that all? My memory (probably affected by the alcohol consumed during that era) really failed me there. I know he wasn't fantastically prolific but I was sure he'd scored more than that. Still, one of those 3 was against Judas Fry at Roots Hall and that counts at least tenfold surely?

didn't help that Newman said he would be our '20 goal a season striker'....................more like '2 goal a season stinker'

Jason Lee got 3 or 4 in the Anglo-Italian Cup as well, indeed he is Southend's top scorer in the competition...

I was surprised to read he'd scored that few, but I suppose I should have backed my own judgment 'cos I thought he was cack!
