Such negativity so early in the season "if we are to stay up"
I think its what you'd call a racing certainty that we'll stay up,from what I've seen so far. Just need to stay fairly injury free.
always look on the bright side

Yes, excellent news. Along with Kevin Maher, Mark Gower has been our best player so far this season. Our next two games - Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich at home - are absolutely vital, in my opinion. We need at least four points from those games; if we fail to get them I'll be quite worried as after that we play West Brom, Cardiff and Derby, which will all be extremely tough, and if we're not careful we could be scrapping at the bottom of the division.

So we need everybody fit, and hopefully Michael Ricketts will be in contention for the Wednesday game too to give us a fresh option up front.

No way will Ricketts be ready for Sheff Weds...

I'll be surprised if we see him before October.

Haven't we got a couple of reserve games before then, though? If Ricketts plays in those he should be in contention for a spot on the bench against Wednesday.

Assuming he doesn't injure himself further...

One reserve game between now and Sheffield game I believe, against Northampton

Great news. Slighlty worrying tho that if we lost 2 or 3 midfielders where is the cover? I think we will be ok this season but only if we avoid any big injuries. I dont think Cole Smith or Lawson are up to this standard. We dont seem to have the same "impact" players we have had in the past. Where is a goal gonna come from looking at our current bench? Would be very disappointed if we dont get at least 2 players in before thursday, a goalscoring midfielder and pacy striker a la Wayne Gray please.

We wont sign anyone before the deadline, Tilly has already stated that fact unfortunately...

But I'm with you, I feel we need another two players.

i think we definately need a central midfielder, preferably in the benno mould (ie. someone who could come on and make a nuisance of themselves and rough up the opposition and make us hard to play against)! I honestly can't see us getting another striker so no point thinking about it! We already have lawson, fred, hooper, paynter and ricketts, whether all these would be able to play in the championship is up for discussion though!

I do feel that Ricketts will make an impact (when finally fit), especially coming off the bench against tired defenders. If nothing else, he could make a bit of space for Freddy to turn on the magic...
