True, but Miss Fittie in the stret is going to be more inclined to go for me in my Dapper G Star Jeans, and Timberland boots and polo shirt, than numbnuts in his Tesco Blue stripe jeans, plimsoles and nirvana 1990 tour tshirt. *

*This is probably due to my superior good looks though, but the clothes help.

Bull**** baffles brains. If you look the part, you're half way there.

Nibbly.

yes and no

I think it is important to be well dressed, but paying £15 for a nice polo shirt, and £50 for a nice polo shirt with a name on it, doesnt really matter. (altho i agree paying £2 for one from tesco wouldnt get you very far!)

Its the person in the clothes that makes the difference. You can wear really expensive clothes and be a complete and utter ****!

For example, i purchased this polo shirt the other day... http://www.newlook.co.uk/1641974/164197409/ProductDetails.aspx

it fits well, it suits me and my shape (or lack of), the Mrs said i look good in it, and it didnt cost the earth? Does it contain a logo... no, would it look any better on me if it did?

Fit is everything, but when it comes to material, design and hidden/little details that make it stand out, you get what you paid for.

I would rather pay extra for something better than normal, which I would wear a lot than something cheaper which I wouldn't like as much and then wouldn't wear.

i agree in part with what you say at the bottom, which is why i wouldnt generally buy clothes from Tesco/Primark, as they dont fit as well, wash as well or last as long, but there comes a point where the economic benefit of spending that extra money is purely down to paying for a label, rather than of any additional quality.

Its like buying anything though really....you pay for what you get. Its a status issue....If you want to look good amongst your peers you pay for a garment with a label on it & you pay more for it.... simple as!!

If you want to wear something from Primark that you will have to buy again after two wears then so be it.

I cant imagine anything from a high street chain being manufactured in any different sweatshop to that of say George from Asda or Tesco.

in which case it all boils down to personal choice, and whether you want people to judge you by your clothes, or for who you are (altho, then again, these two things arent mutually exclusive i guess). Its all very interesting, but at the same time, a bit to deep for a friday noon!

I think the issue here is that Steveo is more in touch with his feminine side than he would like to admit on here and something of a frustrated fashion designer. Working on the OGOL (only get one life) rule I would recommend you have a crack at it and see how it pans out. Be sure to post the results on here though so we can all commend/take the **** out of your handiwork.....;)

I have to say i've bought quite a bit of stuff from primark because I am incredible cheapskate when it comes to clothes and I don't give a toss about labels anyway, and to be fair i've never had a problem with anything i've bought there.
