mine to stay the same please
Fed up with buying expensive polo shirts just to have a little horse on them, I thought of getting some decent quality plain garments and having them embroidered with my own design.

Surely the ultimate designer clothing is to have your own design

Is this a rubbish idea or could it be the way forward?

That's a good idea. If it's done well then it could save you a lot of money and be more personal but if it's done badly it would just be a waste of money. I saw a bloke the other day with a plain white Lacoste polo on it and they are about £70 when you can just get a plain white polo for around £5 in Asda or somewhere but it's the brand.

im all about the brands. sporting a fetching light blue fred perry as we speak. i think, before we can make a final judgement we are gonna need to see the logo you have in mind...

Along with bottled water branded clothes are one of the greatest cons going. Do it Yourself!

As for logo, a shrimp? or Steveo? or a poppy?

As certain people know on here, I'm a bit of a label freak.
What bugs me is shops like River Island, Top Man & Next try to make clothes that look branded but just fail spectacularly. I fear your idea would also lead to such a let down, sorry!

I'm a bit of a label freak, nothing wrong with just plain polo's though, I'm a big fan of top man and H&M ones, great for work.

Roger Federer has gone down this route and personally I think he looks like a **** in his FR monogramed white cardigan.

labels are over-priced

this summer, i shall mostly be sporting the mens range from New Look (well, i seem to be today anyway!)

I defo think we will need to see the design first though. you can't go slapping any old caper on your get-up. know what i mean? I reckon, a top-notch embroided logo on a plain polo shirt is the way to go though

True, but Miss Fittie in the stret is going to be more inclined to go for me in my Dapper G Star Jeans, and Timberland boots and polo shirt, than numbnuts in his Tesco Blue stripe jeans, plimsoles and nirvana 1990 tour tshirt. *

*This is probably due to my superior good looks though, but the clothes help.

Bull**** baffles brains. If you look the part, you're half way there.

Nibbly.

It's all about the classic Fred Perry polo shirts. Think I've six now, should be enough to get me through the summer.

Go for it Steveo, think about all these labels like Fred Perry all had to start somewhere, one bloke sewing his name on his shirt! Maybe in 50 years everyone will be walking round in Steveo branded polo shirts.
