Going going Bonne

If it’s between Bonne or one other I go for the one other as they can’t be any worse. Bonne brings a lot to the team in work ethic but games aren’t won on effort. If we have room for one more striker than I would rather thanks but no thanks to Bonne. Otherwise we will be starting the season with 4/5 of the shot shy team from last season with the untried Slav as the only addition.

We could do with a forward again on loan someone championship to league 2 level like we did with the Luton guy permanent signing striker even better

Dragging on far too long. Obviously not desperate to sign for us so I say "go do one" and we move on. Sounds harsh but was recruited to score goals and didn't do it. No player is bigger than the club. I want players who are eager and proud to play for us. Yeah I appreciate he has a family and needs to support them but he's no James Vardy is he. .

Bonne no doubt has the experience with his agent of going through many a negotiation and probably has a very clear view of his own worth
If the deal is close maybe it’s that extra 5% that could push it over the line
However Cosu will have a clear budget perspective and I hope a firm deadline as others have intimated
For me his track record as a striker suggests deadline day is about up

Internally, there is a deadline set with Bonne, but it’s not as clear cut as everyone is making out.

For example, let’s say, for arguments sake, it’s the Spain trip. That makes sense to me and I’m sure it makes sense to everyone. What about if he sorts his stuff out, and after a bit more negotiations, we settle on a new deal the day they fly out. Do we say, sorry, the lads are already boarding, it’s too late?

It’s not purely down to financial reasons why a deal hasn’t been agreed between both parties. Kev wants Bonne to sign, Bonne is happy here, but everything has to be agreeable for both parties. There are other factors in play, not just the wages…

going or staying what ever it needs to be brought to an end We have brought in a striker Maybe he is an unknown fron the samr club as Leon .But what a great player and if the new man is as good then we may not need Bonne .

I am guessing that MB has not got anyone else sorted yet , and he is just dangling us there until he does .

If he does have someone lined up , maybe he is not signing as the extra month of the current contract is worth it (ie the new club is less than he is currently on but more than we offered) .

I suppose that at this level , every bit helps , and there will be the expense , possibly, of moving etc
