glastonbury

Get in!

One of our team got through so now it's back to bed trying not to think about f5 any more. Good luck anyone still trying.

It's one of those horrible pain in the **** things - I didn't get so much as a "server is busy" page, whereas my girlfriend managed to get through after about 20 minutes. Best of luck to everyone, I'll see you at the Stone Circle.

One of these days I'll have to go to Glasto. However, the lineup looked a bit ar$e this year so I'll suffice with RATM, The Killers and Metallica at Reading instead...

The lineup doesn't particularly grab me either, but after going for the first time last year the atmosphere and sheer feel of the place is incomparable to Reading or V. There are just too many anarchic ****s at Reading and Leeds these days too, and the persistent fear of getting your tents robbed and people trying to set fire to your mate's tent whilst he and his girlfriend are asleep in it are not things I miss about the Carling fests.

Would really have liked to go to T in the Park this year, think that has the best lineup of the summer, but the price of travel to Scotland pretty much doubles the price unfortunately.

At this moment in time, I think i'd honestly rather sit through Grimsby Vs Macclesfield than pay good money to watch The Killers live. I've seen them live before after Hot Fuzz and it was brilliant, but you can only live off one decent album for so long.

Sam's Town was, to put it gently, extremely dissapointing and I couldn't pay upwards of £50 to watch them drone out the monotonous crap that is on that album.

I've not seen them before but like you wasn't impressed by Sam's Town. It's a toss up between the Killers and the Manic Street Preachers (who are, curiously, headlining the second stage at the same time) and I'll probably end up going to see the latter, who I remember fondly from my younger days.

Agree totally on Sams Town and Killers live since then.

As to Glasto, the line up is secondary to me these days, there's just so much going on. Most people that I know that go seem to choose it over every festival despite the line up.

not doing glasto this year... after doing 3 in a row. felt really sad to not be f5-ing all sunday. hope everyone got tickets who want them. i have to say last years atmosphere and this years lineup looking weak were the reasons i've skipped it. probably going to do the Morrissey Wireless and plan for next springs ATPs and maybe a foreign festival... glastonbury needs to really buck it's ideas up, it's been getting more and more complacent each year ive been IMO
