So, here we are. A massive match, who would of billed it as that before the news of the last couple of weeks...

We face a Gills side who are quite frankly **** on the road. We welcome back several ex-Blues, such as Roycie, Captain Kev and Benno. They have managed to gain just one solitary point on the road, out of a possible 21 so far this term. They have the worst defense on the road to, conceeding 18 goals in just 7 games.

But in Simeon Jackson, they have one of the most sought after front men. He has banged in 8 league goals (11 in total) so far and sits 5th in the scoring charts.

Can we turn our fortunes around on the pitch at least tonight and get 3 much needed points, which could keep us off the bottom of the table, if the worst happens next week.

The fans will be up for it, the players should be as well. So i'm going for a 2-0 win and a slight pick me up before D-Day, next Wednesday.

Barney and Moussa to notch, infront of around 9,500 vocal Shrimpers.

I'm now off to pickup a bucket and a giant flag. Sing up tonight people, sing up. After all we are Southend, United.

Come on Southend!

I'm tempted to say 3-0 a hattrick of own goals from the aforementioned Royce, Benno & Kev.

But I'll go for a 4-1 rout, goals from Barrett, Barney, Moussa & Walker - in that order.

Mixed bag of emotions for King Kev tonight...
3-1 to the Super Blues, Barney getting 2 and JFC, Kev scoring for Gills

Should win if we can keep Jackson quiet. Good that they havent got a big guy up front but will be a threat from set pieces. Their away record speaks for itself so I will go for 2-0. Barney and Barrett to notch his first of the season.

Hopefully eveyone will pull together and put in a performance, the fans will be behind them, even more so than usual as Friday night games have a better atmosphere anyway.

3-0 win

3-0 to the shrimpers, and ron martin comes out on the field and announces that the bill has been payed and the panic is over, and we are not going into administration, met with cheers around the ground - or am I being a bit ambitious with that last bit about ron martin?
