Getting to Fossetts'

The Traffic Report, submitted as part of the planning application that can be found on the Council's Planning Portal, also mentions the use of an 'innovative new initiative whereby the match ticket includes return travel on Southend bus services'. This is an excellent initiative by the club - Brighton operate a similar thing - and it will encourage people to leave the car at home or in town. Hopefully there will be a new service leaving from outside the Spread...

well just comparing it to driving really. say a family of 5 is going on the bus, then that would probably cost a tenner, compared to driving across. makes sense to do this kind of scheme to me

Ron Martin intimated tonight at the Shrimpers Trust AGM Q+A session that this scheme could end up being solely operated by Southend United as a "free service" and money has been allocated for just such a scheme.

Free as in say a quid on your ticket price I would assume and £46 on the cost of a seaso.

Well I dunno, there's no such thing as a free lunch. I just plucked those figures and scenario out of the air.

I live just too far to want to walk and just too near to validate driving so some sort of bus service will be greatly appreciated!

Well, I don't know about the cost but I would be a bit miffed to be charged double as a seaso!!
