Get in the hole Pt. 2

Vange Shrimper

Mrs Rock God
As you guys know, a couple of months ago I ranted about the way the American's cheer on their guys by saying 'Get in the hole'. I wanted it banned, as it is soooo annoying.

Anyway, me and Mr Vange Shrimper are watching the Ryder Cup at the moment, and the American's still havent learnt. They are still saying this, and it is getting even more annoying, as it seems that the European supporters are now saying 'Get in!'.

Can't they just keep it to themselves? Is there any way that this saying could be banned? It's actually starting to put me off watching major golf competitions.

Can you hear in the background, every time an American holes a putt, you can hear chants of U.S.A, U.S.A..

Sickens me!!

Poulter, I do like. But, i've never been a massive fan or Paul Casey. Big mistake to pick him over Monty or Clarke TBH.

Poulter had the easy route, it was fixed by Faldo a long time ago..He knew he was going to be a wild card ages ago, which is why he has been playing on the American tour for big bucks rather than playing the European tour to try and earn the right to play in the Ryder Cup..That's the main reason Poulter should't be there!!

As the captain's choice Poulter has every right to be there. FWIW I do think that Darren Clarke should have had a wild card, but Faldo is the captain so it's down to him. A lot of the stories in the press abound because of the antipathy towards Faldo, somebody who has never been scared to tell the "gentlemen" of the Fourth Estate exactly what he thinks of them.

And sorry if that's :offtopic:

Correct me if I'm wrong put you can qualify for the ryder cup team by a worlds points list as well as a euro list. Thats how Sergio qualified.

Dont get me wrong the money on the US tour is better than the european but do you seriously think that money is the primary reason why the guys play? They are wealthy enough already, the want the titles!!

Poulter chose to chase the points stateside (where he plays the vast majority of his tournaments), the fact that he week in week out plays in pretty high ranking fields and was the highest ranked player not to qualify automatically says to me he was a pretty decent shout for a pick.

Clarke has won a couple of events this season but both have been in minor ranking points events with poor fields.

Monty has just been pants even by his own admission and was never going to make the team.

I suppose this is on Sky is it? I used to enjoy watching the Ryder Cup when it used to be available on the Beeb.

:p We have Sky, just a tight bottomed husband who won't pay out for Sports or Movies.

Worse than the "Get in the hole" shouts, were the contant "Boo's" from the American crowd everytime Boo Weekley played a shot.
The novelty kind of wore off after the first day with that one
