Big Geoff has said that the club had distributed the tickets fairly.
A) The club have a database. Why not just sell to people who have paid to watch the club this season already
B) The system did not work because some man u supporter has a ticket and it was his first visit to roots hall against hull.
C) Said it was a sell out against hull yet it wasnt
D) Said our ground is second smallest in the league. Its actually third smallest.
E) The atmosphere against hull was shocking and against man u it will propably be worse as half the crowd will be reds fans.
F) Time to introduce a membership scheme.

h) Spiff talks sense ... at last ...

He also confirmed that Man ure received 2,500 tickets and that 2,104 went the Hull City ticket stub holders on Wednesday.

Totalling roughly 4,600, we then have 5,400 season ticket holders having bought tickets (I'm led to believe only 100 didn't apply for theirs), 1,200 "corporate" season tickets (which is subject to clarification), around 600 empty seats for segregation purposes (Y block and part of Z or AA block), plus the comps and tickets for players and staff and the figures now appear to add up.

I'm sceptical of 1,200 corporates, mind, but always stand to be corrected.

L) I already have my ticket , but it just annoyes me when i see genuine fans without a ticket and some loser at work is parading his ,and the hull game was the first time he had ever been in the ground. Whats the point in having a database if you dont use it.

Because it wouldn't make the club MORE money ... if you used the database, no-one would have gone to the Hull game!!

Maybe do both? Hull ticket stub holders who also appeared on the clubs purchase history database?

Wouldnt have been that hard to do...

We have about 500 corporate season ticket holders for normal league matches. I think the 1,200 figure is the amount being issued for the Man United game?

Why have we given Man United 2,500 tickets when it was announced they would only have 1,800?

I wonder why we are leaving 600 tickets between the home and away fans. I remember at Orient I was 3 seats from there backwards inbreads fans with only a 65 year old steward to seperate us.

Surely we could have given more of these seats to fans.

Here's what to do.

I wrote to the club in the summer and proposed making another band of fans above the general public and below the Season Ticket Holders.

They could open a special window for tickets. Just something for regular ad-hoc buyers who hate phoning up every week to hear, "You are Number.......17 in the queue."

The club could release a text message to all the members saying, "Tickets now available for Ipswich (H)"

We could then have a couple of hours where we could get through to the ticket office before they go on general sale and secure decent seats quickly. Then after this short window, just release the rest of the tickets.

I'd pay an annual fee for that. I'd probably go more often as well!

It takes hardly any work to set up, you just need someone to press the button and release the text. Then it's business as usual.

The club would make a few grand, we'd get tickets quickly and easily and no-one gets hurt in the process.

Most importantly, should we land Liverpool at home in the Cup, the club will be able to quickly make sure that Season Ticket Holders are happy, then satisfy the regulars and then the general public. They'd have all the details sat there waiting.

If that had been in place, we'd all be talking about the trip to Wolves.

There you go, problem solved.

Your right, 600 tickets won't be much of a gap, although it depends on whether they're laid end to end or on top of one another.

Ron Martin has also made a couple of mistakes in his comments to the press:-

"It's Southends biggest ever match" .

"Most Championship clubs charge more than £30 for league matches"

Without doubt the Liverpool game was 'bigger', and I dont think any championship sides charge more than £30 for league matches.

some kind of membership scheme makes a lot of sense- it'd cut out a lot of mess with games like this, and for away games with low allocation like Col U. I am somewhat annoyed at the prospect of sharing the home end with a bunch of Man U fans of Tuesday- queue or no queue, it's still a designated home end, and it seems pretty unfair on dedicated home supporters who couldn't get a ticket.
