Question Games remaining of the season

Southend United remaining fixtures as per BBC Football

we have 16 games left to play and 5 of those we have to play the top 6 teams in the divison i can only see us picking up between 14-17 points and that we leave us with 47 ish points.

carlisle stayed up with 50 points last season
crewe stayed up with 50 points season before that
and orient stayed up with 51 points season before that

its going to be increadbly tight and we need to go on a victorious run a.s.a.p but i can't see it happening with the fixtures we are faced with.

I could see us getting nil points from our aways altough I expect we will get a few points here or there.

It makes the homes vital but the form were in at the moment I worry I really do. All the homes bar Charlton are more than winnable.

All the home games are winnable, however so were Tranmere and Wycombe....

On a positive note we have the players now, hopefully they will now get to gel and start performing, but cant see us getting much out of next 4 games, 2 points max.

its all about the first win, if we can get that sooner, rather than later I think (heart ruling head) that we can go do it .

If the squad stays fit, without needless yellow cards we have the quality, we just need the application and the belief.

I actually think we can get something out of the Charlton game . We will have a decent crowd which will get on Bailey's back straight from the off. Macca will ahve something to prove and will (hopefully) spur us on.

I genuinely see that game as the start of the turn around, assuming off course that it doesn't happen in the next 8 days

Although I hope in my heart of hearts I'm not right, but I can't get the horrible thought of us needed to get a point(s) at Southampton last day of the season to stay up, and our beloved Lee Barnard hitting the back of the next to send us down.

Please god do not let this happen. :(

The good news is that, according to that predictor, we are paired against Leeds United in the play-offs after acquiring 78 points.

The bad news is that the Pizza Man doesn't sell up and we end up ground sharing with Hullbridge Sports for the home leg.

I said before the season kicked off that we would struggle this season and would be in a relegation battle and at the time I got shot down by several people with some cruel remarks.

The way things are going at the moment I can see this going to the final game against Southampton and it will be Lee Barnard who will score the winner against us to send us down. how ironic would that be

That will make the £150k or whatever we got for him look like good business

I think Glasgow is right - we will go down. I've already given my predictions for the remaining games:

I can't see loan signings sorting us out (even Doris) as we have problems all over the park. Our defense is inadequate, our central midfield is far too defensive in every combination (as a result?), possessing very little attacking threat and our strikers are toothless. In addition, Tilly's forays into the loan market have been unimpressive this season (cf. Iberhe, Watt etc.).

I don't know what Ron is going to do as I see the legal action against HMRC as the last act of a desperate man. Do any oil sheikhs go on Shrimperzone?

Sunday morning.............did a 40kms round trip to find nothing at a Boot Sale.........so I thought I would bore everyone with some statistics. Since the start of the year I have looked at the form of the clubs at present involved in the relegation dogfight.

I don't know what anyone can decipher from the above........but for amateurs of mathmatical sequences, give the next result...........

So, you can bank on Norwich as a draw!
