Soccer: Fredy ready for Blues deal

Southend United hot-shot Fredy Eastwood revealed he would love to sign for the Shrimpers on a permanent basis after firing home a hat trick on his debut against Swansea City on Saturday.

The 20-year-old, who is currently on loan from Grays Athletic, netted three excellent efforts and was joined on the score-sheet by Spencer Prior as Steve Tilson's side deservedly defeated the Welshmen 4-2 at Roots Hall.

"I would definitely like to sign for Southend, in fact I would love to," said the striker.

"It's a higher level of football and I'm a player who has always wanted to progress and improve."

This news was also on the club w/s eons before twas in the echo!

As for the Gillingham rumour, Fredy: don't sign for them, watching them Vs Sheff. Utd remind me of Southend's side of 1996-97 in Championship level, you are joining a team on the slide while you can join a local team on the up!

Message to Tilly & Ron Martin: I don't care how much money Grays Ath. want for him, just sign him up.
