Friday team

OlvisIII

Coach
Wondering if Gower and Eastwood will be back on Friday. I thought the team played extremely well getting a point, but wonder whether we need extra flair at home? My view is to play Wayne Gray away from home and partner Dudfield and Fredy at home. Would like to see Gower back for Friday possibly for Petts to keep the midfield balanced. Would have dropped Bentley but he seems to have sorted out his form. Any thoughts?

Gower in for Nicolau, Jupp back in for Hunt, Petts to partner Bents in the middle and Bart back in goal. Keep the front two the same.

If you are sticking Gower in for Nicky Nic and moving Petts into central midfield then we will only have one wide midfielder surely........?  How about bringing Gordon Conelly in on loan to fill that gap?

Hmm good point. OK, put Husbands on the right, we could use the pace.

Keith Mercer would fill most gaps.....

Jupp back? Hunt's been excellent at right-back lately. Bart's still injured.

I'd put Eastwood in instead of Dudfield, and Gower instead of Nicolau. Apart from that keep it the same.

I think Napster is aware of that

But with Drewe upfront and Husbands on the wing who would partner Drewe? I think we might have to sign Tony Richards again.

I see where this is going.. The worst players for Southend ever (in people's opinions) by any chance?!

Worst players? I only saw Richard play against Halifax and he was awesome.

laughing out loud fair enough. I saw him play against Carlisle (i think) netted two, don't mean he was great though, shoulda bagged at least four (and that's being kind!) Being as we have such as striker crisis, IMHO we should stop Collymore dogging and get him back in a Shrimpers shirt!

hahahaha.

Thanks for the sensible line of conversation - didn't think that it was that bizarre. Justing wanting to know whether people would change a team that has got two good results to bring in two good players or whether the team should stay the same. Thought this forum promoted chat about the team - obviously mistaken.

There was me thinking it was the case that we basically log on to SZ because we enjoy reading about and discussing the team and part of that enjoyment is making the occasional jokey comment.

I apologise for my part in trivialising the oh so serious business of discussing team selection and consider myself suitably told off.

I apologise for sounding like a teacher - just surprised that my topic brought about such sarcastic comments in return.

I would change all the players if I thought we wouldnt win the next game. All this rubbish about dont change a winning team- it's silly- what if it was a lucky win?
