Friday Night Team News

HUTTON

Guest
Southend v Scunthorpe

Wayne Gray is in contention for the first time since January after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Kevin Maher is clear to play after surgery for a broken nose, Mark Bentley is still doubtful with an ankle injury.

On-loan Fulham midfielder Michael Timlin could make his Scunthorpe debut.

Top scorer Billy Sharp is expected to miss out again with an ankle ligament problem but Ryan Hinds could return after a groin injury.

Good news!

From the way Tilly was talking about Bentley's injury on Blues World it looks as though he wont be ready for Friday.  I'm sure Bradbury will do just fine there, as per last Saturday.

I reckon that Tilly should bring on Gray as a super sub to test out those tired Scunny defenders legs.

Im feeling quite positive about Friday to be honest.  Scunny are a decent footballing side, and we generally do well against teams that play this way.  Saying that, if they just come for a point then it will be very hard work.

Excellent - has scored a goal a game in March so far

I reckon that Tilly should play the Goat first half and bring on Wayne Gray for his pace second half.  With a bit of luck Gray's pace will expose tired legs in the Scunny defence.  It depends of course how the game goes.

Good news that Gray is fit again - we'll need him for the run-in and he gives us an extra dimension in attack

Although I hear that Keogh, not Sharp, is Scunny's real talent up front...?

We need to be on our mettle tonight, and no mistake. 3 points are a must - unlike last Saturday, the pressure is really on us to perform.

COME ON YOU BLUES!

and the crowd is vital tonight. We dont want 8,500 Blues just sitting there expecting a win. It worries me that after the Col U game the town, the media, the fans think the job is done. It was, after all, only a win and not the "P" word achieved.

Apparently Keogh creates a lot of the chances and Sharp is the 'fox in the box' who puts them away - he's only scored one goal from outside the penalty area this season.

Sharp must be on our hit list if we do get promotion, I can see Freddy & Shrap running Championship side's ragged.
