Friday night in Leeds

We are going up on the Friday, are staying in a hotel in leeds centre are there any recomended pubs and places to eat in the area.

There are loads to choose from, but it depends on what you want. Its a few years since I last went out up there, but you won't stuck for choice.

If you can find it, try a pub called Whitelocks, its the oldest pub in Leeds, but is well hidden, as its down a fairly well hidden passage off a main road. Its an unusual pub (in a quaint way) but worth it just to try their filled Yorkshire Puddings!

There's a couple of Wetherspoon pubs, which are like most Wetherspoon pubs. If you want live music & decent ale, then the Duck & Drake (It has a Duck-type name to it) is superb. If you can find the Samuel Smith's pub(I can't remember its name) off Briggate, go in for a quick one. Its R A F, but its hilarious just to "people watch" especially the Landlady. She's rough, but very friendly, unless you upset her. If you do, you will get major earache!!

There's The Commercial, just outside the City centre, where you can meet Peter Lorimer, its a typical "locals" pub, but worthwhile if you want to meet a footballing legend.

As I said earlier, its a few years since I last had a night out in Leeds. You will be spoilt for choice, but you will struggle to find a better place for a good night out! Have fun!!
