A lot of shops check your postcode and if it doesn't say you can get it they won't allow you to buy it because they won't give you a refund.[b said:Quote[/b] (chadded @ April 07 2006,11:15)]if you haven't already, and if it doesn't work, get a refund.
Or, storm up to the manager and say that under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, you are entitled to a refund.[b said:Quote[/b] (The Artful Shrimper @ April 07 2006,10:20)]A lot of shops check your postcode and if it doesn't say you can get it they won't allow you to buy it because they won't give you a refund.[b said:Quote[/b] (chadded @ April 07 2006,11:15)]if you haven't already, and if it doesn't work, get a refund.
I have checked this with consumer groups and you can only get a refund if the product doesn't do what you expect, if the shop says it won't work it's reasonable to assume you can't claim its faulty or not as expected.
I'd borrow one first.
Yes, but the Consumer Act which in some ways superseeds the sale of goods act clearly states that you are entitled to a no quibble money back within 7 days if the product is not as expected or to your expectations, and obviously if its broke etc.[b said:Quote[/b] (chadded @ April 07 2006,11:34)]Or, storm up to the manager and say that under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, you are entitled to a refund.[b said:Quote[/b] (The Artful Shrimper @ April 07 2006,10:20)]A lot of shops check your postcode and if it doesn't say you can get it they won't allow you to buy it because they won't give you a refund.[b said:Quote[/b] (chadded @ April 07 2006,11:15)]if you haven't already, and if it doesn't work, get a refund.

You could give them a false postcode i guess and then take it back saying it pixelates etc which would be a lot less arguing.
Agreed, as is ITV1.[b said:Quote[/b] (blues_r_best @ April 07 2006,12:07)]ITV 2 & 3 are totally crap.
