I read about Canberra bidding for a A-League spot in the future and i sent in this e-mail:

Dear Sir/

I recently read about Canberra's vision for an A-League team whilst browsing the internet and after looking at the official Canberra4A-league website i felt rather intrigued into your bid as i feel that the A-League has the potential to be one of the best leagues in the world. Despite living in England , i still feel that i could maintain a sort of, center for people to keep and eye on Canberra's results and create a knowledge of the club amongst the community that i work in and across message-boards that i frequent. I am 16 but the reason i am e-mailing for is simply to say good luck with your bid and i will be backing you all the way and i hope to see Canberra play in the future. I support Southend so the possibility of them playing a friendly in the future would be a real incentive.

Best of Luck,

Peter

Little did i know what i'd get in my response:

Hi Peter

I'm Eamonn the bid project manager, born in Burton nr Derby so know England well.

It's an exciting time for us and thanks for your interest.

We're up against Western Sydney and South Coast for the 12th spot and we are well ahead. So much so the FFA have put a Socceroos game in Canberra for the first time in 13 years to test the crowd support for football.

We'd be delighted to have you spread the word in England. And who knows Peter one day when you make the trip to Oz you'll have a reason to visit the Capital of Australia. You will have a free ticket in the mainstand when you make the trip. If I'm still here and we have a team...I'll keep that promise.

As you know people love the football in UK and love Australia. We're probably the last Capital City team in the World so well worth watching where we end up and of course having an Aussie team to follow.

Unlike Southend we'll be in the Premier League and one step from Asian Champions League so would be great ot have Southend and Canberra as two of your favourite clubs.

Thanks for your support and spread the word, good luck to Southend this year.

Please keep in touch and let us know if you get any responses/interest etc.

Regards

Eamonn
