Freddy's sell on clause...

The way I remember it is that it's 25%, but off any profit made by Wolves. So, if he were to go for £2m, the profit would be £500k, leaving us with £125k from the sale.

I'm pretty sure the sell on fee was a percentage of the total transfer fee recieved by Wolves, not a percentage of profit made.

Ron Martin's going to sign him for Southend, that's why we've had a big clear out of some of the higher paid players.

The London Paper (free newspaper handed out at London Stations each evening) quotes QPR as being interested in him. Now they have some serious money so £2m might be batting a little low. Wait and see.
QPR are also quoted as wanting Kevin Phillips, as well as Eastwood.

So if we pay £10m for him, we could get £2.5m as part of the sell on clause. Woo hoo, free money! Let's pay £15m!

But that would involve having 10 million in the first place.

Plus we pay ten million and get Freddy + 2.5 million. That equals to us shipping out 8.5 million. Something doesnt add up here!

...anyone know how much it was in the end? As it could have significant influence as to our spending power this summer- if he goes to coventry for quoted £2 million!

i do believe it was 25% of whatever the final fee paid is :)
thats quite a bit of cash for RM to spend bringing in a few new players

It is usual (and logical) for a sell-on clause to relate to profit.

Cases where the sell-on relates to whole fees are normally when the original sale price is very low.

We sold him to Wolves for 1.5mill and he hasn't hit a cow's **** since August.
Why does everyone think that someone now wants to pay 2mill and more for him?!
Crazy. Wolves, given his record there, will be lucky to get a million for him.
