FP Trophy - Essex Vs Middlesex

BLUEBLOOD

Moderator of Moderators
Essex got off to a flyer this afternoon with Graham Napier opening up with a double wicket maiden with Ed Joyce and Billy Godleman sent packing .. and when David Masters joined the attack and got rid of Owais Shah they were 15-3 and teetering on the brink of total collapse

However Ed Smith and Eoin Morgan have turned things around and the current score is 128-3 after 27.3

Smith and Morgan added 179 for the fourth wicket to put Middx firmly in the driving seat, but we've hit back, claiming 4-17 to leave them on 217-7 with 4 overs left

Lets just hope we don't collapse like we did vs Kent on Friday (i didn't even find out that score till this morning :stunned: )

Yeah i saw about Nel going to the Indian League earlier than he should have done too! If Friday is anything to go by, we wont be chasing that score, but lets hope it was a one off and Friday was a bad day for Essex all round!

Convincing win by Essex by 8 wickets reaching the target with 7 overs remaining. Another ton for Jason Gallian & 85* from Ravi Bopara.

Friday was very much a one-off! 260 is at the lower end of par at the FCG for a non-floodlit match, so I always thought we would chase that down. Gallian's knock was faultless, Chopra and Bopara both knuckled down after testing starts and made valuable fifties, and we're now in a very good position to qualify - hopefully as group winners.
