Football socks - up or down?

RHB

Return to Modnomor Mountain⭐⭐🦐
Can anyone explain to me the current trend of professionals pulling their socks up over their knees? Is it a fashion thing or is there some sort of benefit from doing so?

Thierry Henry used to do it, so perhaps he was the trendsetter.

And it is certainly filtering its way down - my five year old boy wears his football socks like that, much to my dismay!

that Terry Henry bloke at Arsenal started doing it so it's probably copying him. Strange when we all know that Claridge was better....

It's a practical thing. It stops their knees getting dirty so they don't get told off by their mums.
