Football League Fights Back

Life President
Agents Fees

Jesus Christ, no sooner had Newell made the press conference and the Football League publish the Agent Fees for this season so far, indicating clearly they've fallen by £600k and that only 13% of transfers involved an agent...

Clearly nobody told League Chiefs about being discreet....

But remember, these are the fees paid by clubs.  How much are players also wasting on fees (especially when the PFA will represent players for a fraction of the cost)?

The figures also, obviously, exclude bungs which I have no doubt are a regular occurence.

I also see we're still paying agents fees.

Finally, good on Mike Newall.  I hope some other managers back him up, but I doubt it given it would kill off their bungs.

Not traceable fees anyway.

"How would you like a new Mercedes for an incentive?" or 3 weeks in Bermuda at my expense?

It doesn't have to be by cheque, does it?

Anywhere there is BIG money there will be corruption of some sort.

Especially where there are conflicts of interest. How the hell can an agent get the best possible deal for both the player and club when he's acting for both? Simple answer, he cant.
