Focus on ......... Gateshead

Rattus Norvegicus

Dullard ①
A thread to discuss all things related to ........... yes, Gateshead.

We all know why.

Gateshead sit in 7th place with 1 point more than Southend United.

Their form for the last 6 games is L L L L L L

Surely that can't continue can it?

They have brought in 3 (or is it 4) players in the last week including our old friend Mr Frank Nouble.

Law of averages would suggest that eventually Gateshead will start to turn it around and of course we will need to get some form of result at there place on the last day to get into the playoffs.
Please prove me wrong as cant stand the tension if it happens

As I said in the other thread, I think they are shot. They have the toughest run in by a mile. Where will they get the wins needed? when they can't beat anyone at the moment. They look knackered, probably due to the early season press, and going full tilt to win balls back. They are lacking confidence, with heads dropping when they go behind. Barnet didn't play nowhere near as well as I've seen them, but easily dealt with Gateshead, who kept giving them the ball back with some of the worst passing I've seen. Bringing in Nouble and starting him is a big mistake. He's now so slow. If he's going to score, it will probably be a tap in. I just can't see them making the play-offs, having watched them twice recently.

Maybe if it does come down to this game to nail on a play-off place, the Club would open up the Shrimpers Bar for any fans not going and get the game on.

Something to suggest to the Fans Forum?
Fully endorse this,if we could get permission to put the game on the big screen at roots hall for supporters not able to get to Gateshead reckon that would generate some income for the club

Could be a good way to test out the screen that we had installed. I'm sure Tom mentioned it could be used to to show films etc as an additional source of income at the meet the COSU event last January last year

I watched the Gateshead vlogger’s video on their match last weekend against Barnet. I don’t know the guy’s name, he just identifies as DB30. He mentioned they have had a lot of injuries to defenders of late but some of them are now beginning to return to the match squad. He was honest in his prelude to the match, stating he wasn’t expecting Gateshead to get anything from the game, but was hoping to see a general improvement in their play.

It seems that the Heed were second best in the first half but made more a game of it when subs came on in the second half. DB30 was impressed with Brayden Johnson, midfielder on loan from Middlesbrough, saying he wasn’t afraid to get stuck in and wondered whether that was something his team had been lacking. He also thought Brandon Haunstrup, experienced CB, made a difference when he came on after being out injured for several months. Overall, DB30 was satisfied the team had improved and he has more confidence now for their remaining games.

Perhaps Gateshead are now turning a corner, and their bad run is behind them, we will see I guess, but I don’t think they are going to relinquish their playoff spot easily. We just need to keep winning, simple.

in form Boston United away,
Not apparently when they played us according to a number of people on here who slagged the team off for not beating a team in the bottom four. Yes we were crap on the night but Boston had been playing well - I pointed this out more than once and then gave up
