Flavs - 'worst spell of his career'

Poor old Daryl. I'm sure the worst spell was when he was released by Southend and only Havant and Waterlooville showed an interest. Or when his brother died. Or when he was arrested. Actually, all three of those happened around the same time, I bet this was his worst time.

I thought he had a very average game against the Daggers

agreed. Thought he was at major fault for the second goal - virtually layed on the floor, at his near post, and let the ball fly over his head........

Did nothing wrong from what I saw.

Thats harsh, it was a decent finish. Doubt Collis would have done any better if the Bristol goal was anything to go by...

I love Darryl as a servant to the club but personally feel more comfortable with Collis in goal.

great credit to Darryl how he remained professional about Tilsons decision -

basically he was the scapegoat for the chaos in front of him as Barrat and Clarke proved week after week their inability to dominate the box from set pieces or crossed balls - with Collis it seems to have gone back to square one with set pieces still being a major weakness -

now Darryls back we can sort it out for good -

sorry totally dissagree with this i am affraid, i feel he did enough to warrent a place in the starting line up on saturday.
there wasn't a lot he could've done about either goal, and the second one was a massive defensive error!

Absolutely spot on. Had he stood on his tiny 'ickle tippy-toes he would have stopped that ball, by just holding his arms up. Falling backwards as the ball was hit was a major error, and had that been Collis, he would have been crucified.

Sorry to use that last word, as it must make Flavs' heart tremble, as he is clearly terrified of crosses.

..and as its Flahavan he is being crucified.

Doesnt matter who is in goal these days part of the support will blame the keeper whenever a goal goes in.

People who blame Flavs for that goal will no doubt be ignoring the lame attempt at a save Collis made against Bristol Rovers one shot, and Im sure Flav fans will do the same.

He seems pretty sure that he will be playing on Saturday which is interesting. I assumed he was just picked for the cup game, as Collis was when Flavs was playing in the league.

I also don't think the interview shows great professionalism on Flahavan's part. He's moaning about being dropped (something that happens to all players) as being the "worst" moment of his career. As Napster pointed it, this is clearly an exaggeration. There's also no sense of respect or alliance with Collis: "I was having a bad time, Steve deserved his chance" type of thing.

I don't really care who plays in goal at the moment. This season, I feel we have the choice of two distinctly average keepers.
