Fixtures and Results for 2024/25 Season

Southend United Ladies are back on top of the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Division One South table following a hard-fought 3-2 win at Stanway Pegasus this afternoon.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Reyes Humbles levelled within sixty seconds of the restart after Abbie Rex’s effort drifted off-target, then Rex won a contest with the goalkeeper on the edge of the penalty area to put Blues in front before skipper Danni Hindley added a third from distance late on.

Pegasus pulled one back, but Blues held on to move to the summit, albeit Hutton are four points behind with four games in hand. The two sides meet on 4th May in Southend’s final game of the season. Blues have a fortnight off now before their next match, away to Wormley Rovers on 27th April.

Heard the Ladies done well today considering they were down to bare bones in numbers and a few carrying some knocks as well ( i think they only had 11 available)
To come back from being down and then go on to win is testament to them.
Well done Ladies and hoepfully the 2 week rest will help.

Southend United Ladies’ hopes of claiming the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Division One South title are over following a 3-2 defeat at Wormley Rovers this afternnon.

Blues left themselves too much to do after falling 2-0 behind, with Danni Hindley’s free-kick and a stoppage time strike by Ellie Nicholls ultimately proving to be insufficient.

The squad travel to champions Hutton next weekend for their final competitive match of the season.

Southend United Ladies finished the season with a 7-0 defeat away to Eastern Region Women’s Football League Division One South champions Hutton. I was down in Taunton for the first part of the Bank Holiday weekend, so wasn't at the game and therefore can't add much more information!

Blues currently sit third in the league table, but it looks likely they will end fourth with Chelmsford City being able to edge the Shrimpers out of the top three on goal difference. Southend, Chelmsford and Colney Heath could all finish on 41 points.

Although on paper it's not an improvement on 2023/24, when the squad were runners-up to promoted Watford Ladies Development in their first season at Tier 6, there have been a number of factors to contend with throughout the campaign, not least a series of injuries that have meant half-a-dozen key personnel haven't been available for much of the second half of the season. Nonetheless, the squad continued to compete and took the title race down to the final couple of matches.

Another challenging season for the Shrimpers, but we’ve finished in the top half of Tier 6 for the second season in a row!
The squad has experienced both highs and lows throughout the year, but as always, we’ll use it as fuel to come back even stronger for the upcoming season.
We’ll take a well-earned break before shifting our focus to pre-season, where the hard work for the 2025/2026 season begins!
The Shrimpers will be competing in the ERWFL Division One South, and we’re ready to take on the challenge!
