Fixture Changes Made

Home games against Boston, Grimsby, Sc**thorpe and Rochdale now on Friday nights. Bristol Rovers home game on Good Friday (3pm) and away games against Bristol Rovers (bank holiday weekend) and Swansea (6-nations rugby weekend?) also switched

Arseholes!

Evening games are a pain in the arse all round!

Bloody club had to meddle didn't it!

What is the point of buying a bloody season ticket and not being able to go to four matches?!

So why so many friday night games?

I thought the club was only allowd to change 3 games from the origianal date?

Not for me they're not. That's excellent news as far as I'm concerned.

Swansea away on a friday night is very harsh in my opinion!! We get minimal fans down there anyway on a saturday!!!

Could provide the team with an advantage if we make Roots Hall a fortress for the forthcoming campaign. 4 wins and the other teams will be playing catchup on the Saturday

Might be some bumper crowds too... unless Eastenders have a good storyline

Although I work in London (see my username...) and it is a pain getting back in time for kick-off when c2c Rail decide to screw my journey home, I still like Friday night games - especially when we win. It sets my weekend up nicely, and stops the missus moaning as I can go out with her on the Saturday afternoon before going down the pub to see the results come in....

Get the 1824 or 1834 from Liverpool St (which isn't c2c I know, but I'm sure your ticket would still be ok) and you can make kick-off pretty comfortably. My problem tends to be London Underground getting me to Liverpool St in reasonable time.

Like you, I also find Friday night games easier from a 'missus' point of view!

Disagree slightly with the bumper crowds bit.

The home life has moved on from the good old days of Friday night football with more and more people working away from home. Friday night is when they travel back.

A lot more people work in London and it is a mad rush to get home in time. (I don't work in London but it is a bugger's rush to make it without missing the first 30 minutes of the game.)

Away supporters, although not massive in numbers will have to take the whole day off - Grimsby and Rochdale are quite long journey's. Were away supporters even thought about in this? I Guess not.

A lot of people these days do their weekly shops on friday nights etc..

Basically, I fear that this is a wrong move for three key reasons....

1. Crowds will not be as big as expected.

2. Our record is not very good at home in evening games.

3. Personally, it is a pain in the arse!

Rant over.

If 11th Feb is a Friday then 19th Feb can't also be a Friday

Neither the original post nor the official site states that Northampaton away has been re-arranged

Its just a couple of games!! Some people are acting like its the whole season!! Whatever the club do there will always be people for and against. Personally i really enjoy friday night football the atmosphere tends to be lively(early beers no doubt!) and the crowds tend to be bigger. I work in london and until recently lived near romford but i always got to football. I think the club are trying to give the fans who work saturdays the chance to catch a game. I think that this is a 50/50 issue as the posting would suggest.
