Generally though, the team that drops out of the top 3 late on, tends to lose momentum and fail in the play offs

I think L2 bucks the trend set in the Championship and L1 and something like 75% of sides finishing 4th at this level achieve promotion through the play offs .. i think we'll finish 6th or 7th which rules us out sadly

Perhaps we should have a poll to gues when our next victory will be? OK! .......let's not be pessimistic...........I can see 15 points from the remaining games, which would put us on 74points.................would that be enough to get us into the play-offs. Touch and go I reckon.

Oh, you want positions!

Is it truly worth going up if we then come straight back down again, in time for a new stadium and on a downward spiral? The scenario where we stay down and then learn from the two halves of this season and go up in top three next year, in time for a new stadium and on an upward spiral seems long-term to be the better deal. I know that's provocative but at the moment I can't see league 1 as manageable.

Do you honestly fancy our chances in the play-offs against anyone? Anyway, all it's all in the lap of the gods.....we've gone bad in a couple of months, who knows, we may come good again by the end of the season.

I just did BBC predictor and my results were

1. Swindon
2. Shrewsbury
3. Crawley
4. Southend (on goal difference with Crawley)
5. Cheltenham
6 Torquay
7 Gillingham

May just nudge playoffs, but probably get humiliated in them if we carry on as we have. Also I don't think staying in this league would be a good thing like mentioned, players won't learn from it, half if them might not even be here next season, which could be a good thing the way things are at the moment.

1. Southend United
2. Man City
3. Falkirk
4. Chelsea
5. Shrimperzone FC
6. Southend United
7. Southend United

OOOoooooooo RRRrrrr Yahhhhh?

Get into em. **** em up!

:hilarious: You will regret that! I said all was coming off the rails in December and was ridiculed. Those chickens have come home to roost big-style. We are now in real difficulty to get to the play-off's. Oxford are 7th and have a game in hand. Win that game and then the inevitable defeat at the Kassam will see them within 2 points. Port Vale will be within 5 points if they win their games in hand, starting tonight against Crewe. I said above 6th-8th is up for grabs, and we may just get there, but it will be extraordinarly tight. However, had Sturrock been removed from his post when he should have been before Christmas we would probably have been in a much better position than we find ourselves in.

You were ridiculed for saying a manger top of the leauge should be sacked, even now we are still 4th and still in better form than Crawley.

If Sturrock had been removed we could also have been totally screwed. Who would have come in and what could they have done without any money? Even if we finish in the play offs that would be an acceptable finishing position which most would have accepted at the beginning of the season.

Even if Port Vale win we are 7 points clear of 8th, they are more likely to catch Crawley than us based on current form.

Should Crawleys manager be sacked?

To be replaced by the Dream Team of Glasgow and you, no doubt ?

Final League Prediction

On current form we'll struggle to make the playoffs. If we lose again this weekend(highly likely)and don't do the business against Crawley(possible)then SZ can start thinking about a link to the Samaritans.:'(
