Fight

THE SEVENTIES NORTH BANK

Life President⭐⭐🦐
There was so much more fight ,passion and commitment from the whole team yesterday, it was brilliant to see. Macca said that everyone would have to give an extra 15% or more to get us climbing back up the table, and they did.

Also great to see the return to top form and confidence of Francis, Clarke and Christophe.

Moussa has for me, always been a player that I doubted would make it at Southend and thought he would go the Jay Smith route and end up in a crappy Division Two team ,but boy, am I wrong. The loan move away seems to have done him the world of good and he now looks a real asset and a different player. ''MMOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSE''.

I said after his first game that Robinson looked to be something special and the goals will come to match his great pace and skill, what do you think of him now ?.

The 'fight' aspect of it was so needed, it seems to me, as we were saying last week that we are now involved in a relegation dog-fight & need to scrap for every point. Good to have some skill there too (Dougie, the emerging Moose & the lively Theo)- the world seems a much better place for Blues fans this morning! Can wear my '67 replica shirt with even more pride down the local later...

Bit harsh on Jay Smith there, injuries did him in otherwise he was quality.

Perhaps in that case they would like to return that 15% (okay 13.2% for the mathematicians) of their salaries for the weeks they didn't produce maximum effort?

I remember the best game I ever saw him play, and that was the home demolition of Q.P.R.
Apart from that he usually looked after himself in the game and shirked tackles because of his injuries.
In and out of a poor Notts County team since, so he's not that good.

He's been released by Notts County actually. Their fans say his attitude absolutely stunk and they're glad to be rid of him.

No, that's the '69 (so to speak)- the one I'm referring to is the very dark 'Scotland' blue worn in the '67-'68 season; top notch (IIMSM), even in FB size! And yes, I'm :offtopic:once again...

Staying :offtopic: Shrimpero ... Is that shirt a genuine Toffs one ?? My brother in law wanted that shirt but the Southend one was the wrong colour so had to buy the Dundee one from the same era and get a badge made for it

Jay Smith had 10x the tallent Moussa has. As you say the injuries wrecked his career.

Personally i think Moussa is overated at the mo. Can only think of Notts Forest at home last season when i actually thought he looked a good player. Other than that v mediocre.

Saying that he is young so im not writing him off yet. I agree that loan spells would do him good.

The extra 15 per cent kicked in after the non sending off.. we really gave it to Bristol after that.. Of course teams, like crowds, need motivation to get going .. I felt we were better than them in the first half, some of the moaning i heard at half time amused me, and in the second half were far superior.. Freedman is a joy to watch despite not being match fit, JFC was superb

Yeh, can't wait for Freedman to play when fully fit, much more to come from him, class player.
Got to agree about Christophe, the amount of work he got through was incredible.

If we can play like we did in the second half against Brizzle Rovers, and take our chances, then we have a more than good chance against Scunthorpe. They might be in the top 5 but they are showing signs of struggling.

:offtopic:

TOFFS have done a royal blue one as well, but the navy one is easily available. I now have two after my work colleagues got me one; originally bought it myself a couple of years ago :thump:
