Morning everyone :)

I intend going out after work today and buying FIFA 08 on PS2 for my son

Anyone got any idea about the best (ie cheapest) place to buy brand new games ??

I wouldn't admit to that BB.
The Pro Evo lovers will neg rep you to death! ;)

Seriously though, IF they've got a copy, Tesco are usually quite cheap for new release games (as are all the major supermarkets.)
Just don't buy it in GAME!

Yeh what!!! Wait for Pro Evo lol. Ive heard from a few people that Fifa 08 is better then this edition of Pro Evo this year. Only time will tell.

i think Fifa and Pro-Evo are two very different games, both with their pros and cons.

I love playing Fifa on my PC, and also it's just a really fun easy game to play with wicked graphics and all the proper teams and names. However it lacks a lot of real playablity and simulation, especially with set pieces and defensive play

Pro-Evo is a game that once you start playing, you don't stop until you master it. it's a real challenge and has a much more realistic engine so you actually start using your team like a real football team (not just hitting through-ball and chipping the keeper a la Fifa). However Pro-Evo is frustrating and lacks that instant playablilty that means Fifa is wicked if you don't play much

I used to have that on my C64. Genius game.
I was always a fan of 'Super Soccer' on the SNES as well.

Southend were in the "old" 2nd division and to my continual shame I played as Orient so there was a challenge to get from the 4th Division into Europe.

Sorry fans, I need a shower now :(

Buy an old C64, a copy of Sensible World Of Soccer and you're onto a winner - pah to your fancy graphics!

Sensible world of soccer was not released for the C64 (released in 1994 for the Amiga etc.)

Microprose Soccer (By Sensible Software) was released for the C64 in the late 80s.

it was all about Sensi World of Soccer!

I remember playing Super Soccer but can't remember what it looked like etc

You could only play as international teams but, like it's stable mate Super Tennis, it was easy to get the hang of and great fun to play.

Think I saw Asda offering @ £27, Tesco @ £29.73 and Blockbuster @ £29.99 ( with a free game or something worth £9.99.)
Think I will wait for Pro Evo as I'm not really into Fifa.

I bow to your knowledge - I've had so many systems I get easily confused

Mate e-bay is your best bet. I get all the kids games brand new from some bloke on e-bay. Really cheap and never had any problems.

Yeah but then he won't be able to get hold of the game today to take home to his unsuspecting yet happy son will he?

No, but as he's not expecting it he won't know what he's missed and then the surprise can take place at a later date.

If SUFC lose tomorrow no game in the world or even every game in the world would not stop BLUEBLOOD jnr getting upset all weekend.
