FC - Match 6

MrB

Life President
Reverse fixtures from last week, hopefully we can repeat last weeks surprising win. Hard & Fast pitch (do people still use them?) but cloudy first day and we've made a couple of early breakthroughs.

Welcome to icedgod CG for the match between icedgod and ShrimperZone CC.

We can tell you that ShrimperZone CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a cracker! Hard and fast - should be a run-fest out there on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 17 (2 runs). icedgod: 49-2, runrate=2.88
Overs left today: 93
Marriott 2-0-3-1
Lampard* 21 (54 balls)
Alvi 2 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Hickes st. Lamey b. Marriott 6 (FOW: 41/2)

My opposition, Yamas, appear to have thrown the game. I'm batting until 360, but don't think I have follow on set, so won't finish today.

Thought I recognised the team name, he sold a lot of his players yesterday. My mate at work picked up one of his double Elite batters for 3.5m

Anyway, we're struggling a bit as Polly's gone early, and we don't have any other batting until we get to Lindop and Burns at 7+8.

Interesting about Yamas, they're in my OD league. They've actually sold their entire team, wonder if they're giving up? He'd told me he could no longer afford the wages and would have to do some 'trimming' but not this much. Sadly I played them a couple of weeks ago!!

Looks like some people picked up some bargains. Now I'm back in the market for a bowler the list has dried up again!

A team in my OD league is giving up, sold a few on Sunday. I missed them. I missed Yamas' firesale too. Annoying cos I have a spare 3.5m or so that I could've used.

With the next threat under Tioman Islanders going bot this week and having their squad reset it's a two-horse race between us and Tioman. We meet in the last game of the season and it is our league to lose now.

Lost Sini after a slothful 2 from 23 balls but after that Richie and Lamo took control at finished the day and 90-1. Will look to bat as long as possible in the sun tomorrow.
