FC - Match 4

MrB

Life President
Eppleton CC v ShrimperZone CC

2nd of 4 games against them this season, they sneaked past me in OD so hoping for revenge. It's sunny today and cloudy tomorrow in Durham so a good toss to win.

Sini hit the first ball of the innings for 6, can't happen too often in FC!!

End of Over 2 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 10-0, runrate=5.00
Overs left today: 108
Kelly 1-0-3-0
Sinethemba* 9 (8 balls)
Cunningham 1 (4 balls)

0.1 6 Tucker to Sinethemba
We’ve had a text here in the studio ‘Dat wz amzin sht 2 wtch killd 4 6 rns’ well I've no idea what that was supposed to say but Sinethemba has flighted the ball beautifully over deep cover for six runs.

Parkway Sports v Southend
Welcome to The Hell Hole for the match between Parkway Sports and Southend.

We can tell you that Parkway Sports won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking slow and low. Tough for everyone. Could be a low scoring match on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Can't win a toss in FC this season. No batting bonus points for me today.

Battel Bonfires v Southend United

Still bottom, and they are now fifth, playing all first teamers even if they're tired. It was a bad toss to lose as it's partially cloudy and humid today and sunny the next two days.

End of Over 3 (Maiden). Southend United: 1-1, runrate=0.33
Overs left today: 107
Hickey 2-1-1-1
Hoult* 1 (8 balls)
Wright 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Marcel b. Hickey 0 (FOW: 1/1)
2.6 W Hickey to Marcel
Bowled him! Hickey has made a mess of Marcel's stumps there.

Nice start, 5 sixes so far and Sini has 4 of them!! Biggins is on fresh fitness so hopefully we can rape him for plenty of runs.

End of Over 12 (10 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 55-0, runrate=4.58
Overs left today: 98
Biggins 2-0-18-0
Cunningham* 18 (37 balls)
Sinethemba 37 (35 balls)

11.6 6 Biggins to Sinethemba
A dreadful ball from Biggins and Sinethemba wallops that one for a maximum.

End of Over 12 (Maiden). Southend United: 18-4, runrate=1.50
Overs left today: 98
Allanson 6-2-6-1
Gichki* 0 (9 balls)
Joost 2 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Hoult c. Persaud b. Allanson 5 (FOW: 17/4)

Couldn't have asked for much more, in hindsight I should have upped the declaration but it's fairly rare I make it to 360 most of the time!!

End of Over 73 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 292-2, runrate=4.00
Overs left today: 37
Kelly 22-3-69-0
Lamey* 120 (189 balls)
Sandile 51 (72 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba b. Tucker 100 (FOW: 200/2)

End of Over 10 (9 runs). Battel Bonfires: 27-0, runrate=2.70
Trail by 72 runs. (Southend United 99-10)
Overs left today: 38
Lake 5-0-20-0
Thorne* 18 (30 balls)
Persaud 9 (30 balls)

End of Over 37 (13 runs). The Great Unwashed: 98-3, runrate=2.65
Trail by 54 runs. (General Stars 152-10)
Overs left today: 19
Ndungane 5-0-28-1
Tittagalla* 14 (9 balls)
Boosey 52 (124 balls)

Last Wicket: Coyne c. Ndungane b. Raven 8 (FOW: 80/3)

Hoped I might get one of them in the sun before play finished so to pick up both openers already is a big bonus. With bowling conditions and them not batting that deeply we've got a great chance of forcing a follow on.

End of Over 9 (4 runs). Eppleton CC: 23-2, runrate=2.56
Trail by 338 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 361-2 dec)
Overs left today: 13
Digana 5-1-20-2
Shotton-oza* 6 (13 balls)
Neal 4 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Thay c. Cunningham b. Digana 1 (FOW: 19/2)

Record receipts of 375K in my newly expanded ground. At home to current second but reallistically 3rd best team. Glad I checked weather forecast as it changed from overcast and cool to cloudy and humid overnight. Put them in and bowled them out for 106. 192-4 in return. 360 is tough as I went with 5 bowlers. Currently 20 pts ahead but may be less than that by Thurs night. My 18 yo all rounder listed and currently at 1.6. Hoping for much more than that.

botbashing in both formats this week.

Them - 22 all out.

us - 362-3

them - 16-5 at close.

ditto:

21 overs in the day to go and a record FC receipt to boot. Can't say I don't give good value for money, pay for 3 days and get 89 overs of cricket!

Picked one up this morning, though Barrowdale is taking a bit of a pounding. Need to remove one of these soonish to stand a chance of forcing the follow on.

End of Over 38 (16 runs). Eppleton CC: 107-3, runrate=2.82
Trail by 254 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 361-2 dec)
Overs left today: 94
Barrowdale 16-4-45-0
Stubbs* 0 (13 balls)
Neal 48 (98 balls)

Last Wicket: Shotton-oza c. Sandile b. Digana 43 (FOW: 85/3)

37.6 4 Barrowdale to Neal
No good deed goes unpunished. A magnificent outswinger and beautiful cover drive for four.
37.5 4 Barrowdale to Neal
Thick outside edge wide of third slip. It went through at a catchable height but safely finds the gap. It doesn't matter how you get the runs, you just have to get them.
37.4 . Barrowdale to Neal
Short and seaming wide outside off stump. Neal plays a crisp cut but can't get any value for it, playing it powerfully straight to Graham who fields well at point.
37.3 4 Barrowdale to Neal
Glorious, glorious shot. Neal stands up tall and drives through the line. The ball races away all along the ground through the covers for four.
37.2 4 Barrowdale to Neal
Sharp, at the toes, and Neal steps inside and skillfully uses his wrists to deflect the ball around the leg stump. Lamey dives, too slowly and in vain, and that'll run away for four.

Pleasingly easy, this mob beat me in OD! Fingers crossed we can get through the other 6 today and have a days rest before we face FC champs Gatley on Friday.

End of Over 18 (Maiden). Eppleton CC: 40-4, runrate=2.22 (1st Inn: 172-10)
Trail by 149 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 361-2 dec)
Overs left today: 39
Barrowdale 9-1-19-0
Dance* 0 (0 balls)
Stubbs 6 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Shotton-oza b. Digana 14 (FOW: 40/4)

Game has turned. They closed on 150-3 but some damage this morning and Waterhouse has batted superbly!

End of Over 52 (2 runs). General Stars: 181-2, runrate=3.48 (1st Inn: 152-10)
Lead by 146 runs. (The Great Unwashed 187-10)
Overs left today: 38
Foy 14-0-33-1
Waterhouse* 112 (170 balls)
Sookram 15 (23 balls)

Last Wicket: Browne lbw b. Foy 16 (FOW: 145/2)

Awesome return of 7-26 from 16 overs from Diggers, including their top 5 (and 11-68 for the match) forced a second successive innings win and gives us a days rest tomorrow.

ShrimperZone CC won by an innings and 79 runs.

Got bowled for a dissapointing 263 in the end and they closed on 22-0 so they need a little over another 200 runs to win so a draw wont happen. Fitness is looking good and going to need it with the mob im due to play Friday but with 20/20 next week, im going to give it my best shot!
