Forgive me if this has been done before, but i've not been posting in "The Pub" too long, and its not been done lately.

So... While watching Harry Enfield and Chums earlier i saw a sketch featuring The Self-Righteous brothers which i haven't seen in ages... absolute top quality and probably my Favourite TV Comedy Characters.

Agree / Disagree ... or throw in your own suggestions

Norman Stanley Flecther of Porridge has got be my favourite, I loved his cheeky quick wit and the way he always came out on top, a true legend:D

Derek Trotter......

Uncle Albert: Keep the noise down will yer, I can hardly hear this!
Del Boy: Shut up you saucy old git.
Rodney: Well, even if you could hear it, you couldn't understand it, could you, it's in Indian!
Uncle Albert: In 1959 I was in Bombay!
Del Boy: You carry on much longer by tomorrow afternoon you could be in traction.
Uncle Albert: But I like this kind of music!
Del Boy: Ah! Oh yeah, look at that Rodney. It's one of his favourites that is. That's that good old fashioned sing-along number, Knees Up Mother Patel.

Sir Humphrey Appleby (Yes Minister)

Good call - it's between Sir Humphrey and Edmund Blackadder for me (although I'm going to disagree entirely with GrimmRobes's order and go 2, 3 & 4 (they're both brilliant, IMHO), and then 1 a long distance behind).

As a one-off sketch, Gerald the urbane gorilla is another utterly superb character.

:D

Agree with Blackadder (except I'd have it 2,4,3,1), also Lord Percy in 2, cracks me up whenever he's on screen.
