Farrell out of England vs Australia match

is farrell being injured a blessing in disguise?

Would have been a fantastic player for England 4 or 5 years ago but, sadly for him, it's come too late in his career. He just hasn't got the pace he had in league and your body can only take so many hits hence his injury record.

The criticism of him, however, has been way over the top, and to my mind it's a loss to the squad as he's in the same position as the rest of the team of having nothing to lose. He looked impressive when he came on against a tough Tongan outfit and I think he would have done a decent job for 40 minutes either starting or as a sub.

The Australian squad are rightly wary of England, thinking that they must have one great game left in them, just as France had in 1999, but having Farrell out injured decreases that possibility. Only marginally, mind, but nonetheless still a tiny bit.

not a big rugby fan but liked every englishman you want to see your country do well. so good result especially against those bloody aussies!!!! that makes it all the better.

I've just stopped laughing, and I'm loving the whinging coming from the convicts.:hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

Is there a sweeter sound than Australians around the world going:

"Rugby Union? Nah, I'm more of an Aussies Rules/Rugby League man myself....."

Same as me not a great rugby fan but if we actually beat the Aussies at something then its definitely worth celebrating.
