Well sir once again us poor exiles had to endure a totally crap blues world service. The whole game was broken and we didn't have any commentary for the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half at all.The breaks lasted anywhere between 3-15 seconds and came every couple of minutes.Once again as soon as there was any action we lost service totally.I know you can't control the service we get but unfortunately for you it looks like you have the title of problem solver. So come on young man can you see what can be done,as i am not the only one who is seriously considering not renewing our subscription next year. Thanks for any help you can offer.

?

have to agree with CS, the service has been pretty shocking, and was especially so today - i don't want to stop my subscription as it is the only for me to watch highlights and receive live commentary (sometimes !!!), but you have to ask yourself whether we are getting value for money

does my Avtar not give you a slight hint as to why that would be a little difficult?

Yep, just like Canada Shrimper says, Blue's World was very poor today.

Its not just about renewing or not the subscription but as to whether we should be compensated for another dire season of service. I am appalled. If they cant deliver then close down and give it to someone who can.

As a fellow exile, I can say with confidence that they don't. They tend to close down just before kick-off to leave a recorded message informing us that they can't broadcast the actual commentary due to "contractual reasons", i.e. FLPTV told them not to because they want fans to sign up to their crap service. If it were that easy, no-one would have signed up to BluesWorld ... and saved themselves a helluva lot of money ...

I didn't know that, I always listen to away games on the radio on my phone. Sorry canada shrimper, maybe you could use the live text feed on the bbc website instead?

All the Blues Away matches are broadcast live on normal frequency of 95.3 FM which will be accessible via the BBC Essex Listen live on BBC.co.uk/essex. I have it on the playing web now. ( Dido) No need to subscibe to Blues World, I certainly do not.

The home matches are generally not played live, but they have regular visits to Roots Hall. Sometimes but not often even the home matches are played live, i.e.Orient was broadcast. This tends to happen if we are the only team playing i.e Friday night or midweek.

Certainly not in Spain, my friend. The coverage tends to cut out just as the players enter the field of play and a nice little lass informs me that they can't continue due to "contractual obligations". It comes back again once the game finishes. As I said, if BBC Essex DID broadcast live then not many people would sign up for the crap BluesWorld service ...

I would guess that it's along the lines of "don't broadcast live commentary because we want to have exclusive rights in order to fleece more money out of the fans".

or something like that ...

that sounds about right

May I suggest the usage of a program called Paltalk for future games.

It's a program that allows for speech to be broadcast to a number of people over the net. Basically it would involve one designated person turning on their radio and sticking a microphone next to it. This would then cause the commentary to be beamed to everyone else in the "room".

This should sort out the problems of Blues World. As for the legalities I'm not sure, but I know other supporters of other clubs do the same thing

Sounds like a fairly good idea, but I don't think this legal risk is worth it

I can see the club and FL sending in the legal eagles again like they did when Kenny displayed links for video clips.

I think the FL should be encouraging more foreign fans to take an interest in Englishh club football. Alot of people from Europe come to Southend games already, which helps in boosting the economy of the club, which surely can only be a good thing?
