Older but no bloody wiser.
Doe's anyone know why two supporters were escorted out out West stand block T near the front this afternoon?

Ah! Numpties, they should have stood at the back with all the other boozers then LOL!

I wonder if you get banned from the ground for being hoofed out drinking ??

Just behind us, stewards first brought out one can of Fosters and then went back and came out with another few. Not sure how many people were escorted out but blatantly drinking from a can of beer is not terribly smart is it?

At last we agree - A glass is much better

Just in front of us. The stewards originally asked one man to leave although he was very reluctant to go and had to be asked three or four times before he eventally moved. Once he had gone the stewards came back to his seat and, from what I could gather, removed some more cans and then they came back again to remove his friend and two more cans.

I was also a witness to this farce. Yes, drinking in your seat is bad, considering they actually sell the stuff not 50 metres away, but feel ejecting the fans was harsh. Just take their drink away, and it does not need 5 security staff plus the security boss to do this. They are obviously regular fans as they all had home shirts on. We should not alienate ours fans this way. I am afraid our security staff made way too much of this incident. Please let common sense prevail.

Agree with you - the club also make a rod for their own back the drinking facility's in the west are shocking!!! And over priced

Not sure where I have actually ever seen a poster in the West Stand explaining that fans who are caught drinking alcohol in their seats will be ejected. Perhaps someone will enlighten me.

They don't need to, believe there's a nationwide ban on drinking in seating or terraces in professional football that stems back to the days of violence.

Thank you Mr B. That clears that up. I do feel though that as the ban is on the actual drinking of the acohol, once the offending cans had been confiscated (this should have been the approach by security) the fans could have just as easily been left in their seats to watch the remainder of the game. This scenario would have left everyone following the rule of law and happy.

I know there is a notice outside the South East turnstile entrance to South Upper with a long list of prohibited items.

Should be notices all round the ground.

Am laughing. If there had been the internet in the 70's and 80's?? It was not uncommon to see people "escorted" around the pitch by members of the constabluary!!!
