Not sure if it's been posted elsewhere however the youth team game is live on LFC TV (Sky 434, Virgin 544) from 18:30 next Monday (14th Feb).

It's free to all Sky basic subscribers (in other words everyone who has Sky) and free to Virgin XL subscribers. You can probably catch a web stream somewhere.

For those who are unable to make the trip to Anfield but still want to see the Under-18s in action (other than on Liverpool TV of course), don't forget that the youth team are often in action on a Saturday morning (kick-off 11:00am) at Boots & Laces, the club's training ground.

On Saturday 19th February, if you're not making the trip to Torquay, why not pop down and see them as they take on Stevenage in the Area Semi-Finals of the Football League Youth Alliance Cup, with a potential Area Final against Wycombe Wanderers up for grabs?

Also, Ricky Duncan's side are still in with a chance of claiming the Football League Youth Alliance South East Conference for only the second time in the club's history, with home matches upcoming against Northampton Town (5 March), title rivals Queens Park Rangers (26 March), Brentford (9 April), Wycombe (tbc) and Colchester United (tbc).

Would be nice if the club opened the bar for the game so we could watch with a beer or 2 . Would generate a bit of income for club too !

Is this down at B&L or Roots Hall?

Slightly misleading, but factually correct. The competition has been going barely a dozen years and if we do win it, that'll be twice in three years and only Brighton will have won it more times.

Actually, the Youth Alliance has only been split into season-long Conferences since 2005, and Queens Park Rangers hold the honour of having won the most titles, with two. Should either ourselves or Millwall claim the title this year, that would pull us level.

Prior to that, the competition was for Under-19s under the old three-year scholarship system and split in late winter/early spring into the dubiously-named 'Merit Divisions'. If you include Brighton's 1999/2000 Merit Division One South triumph (it may have been the Merit Premier Division South at this time), they too have claimed two titles since the formation of the Football League Youth Alliance in 1998, along with Brentford (2001/2, 2002/3) and Cambridge United (under Ricky Duncan, in 2003/4 and 2004/5). The Seagulls did, however, win the Under-17 South East Conference in 2001, 2003 and 2004.
