I'm just too conscientious. Already coming in next Wed when I should be on holiday and possibly 4th Jan (though I've just told them to f**k off on that particular one).

It's a combination of me being off until 17th Jan and the co-incidence of about half a dozen key projects all finishing or near to finishing at the same time.

My biggest consolation is at this very moment there is only one lawyer left in our massive legal department in Paris - the others left two hours ago. She ain't leaving until I tell her I'm happy for her to go.

The less time she spends whingeing and the more time she spends concentrating on the job in hand AND getting it right the better for her.

This is what happens when you let women lose in a man's world. It all started with us given them the vote.

I had a woman boss once, she and I fell out when she told me how the manual said the job should be done (her never having done the job herself) and me telling her where to shove the manual and come out with me and I would show her what the real world was like. I was made redundant soon after.

Righto - good news - documents executed 20 mins ago.

Looking at my inbox I reckon I've got about 30 mins work max then I'll be putting the ORMmobile through its paces down the A13, or at least after I get to Dagenham and the last yellow monstrosity.

A very happy Crimbo to one and all and please, spare a thought for those unlucky enough not to be able to enjoy Christmas the way I'm just about to, whether they are working, are just down on their luck or are a Col Ewe fan.
