Refwatch may seem a little trite at present what with all the goings on at the club, but here goes anyway:
Tomorrows man in the middle is, for the second week running, a "first year" Football League referee. This time it's Darren Sheldrake from Kingston in Surrey.
His refereeing career has progressed quickly making the National List just 12 years after taking up the whistle at the age of 14. He has already been appointed to a Championship match so things must be going reasonably well for him. His 19 matches this season have produced an average-ish 42 yellows and 2 reds.
Saw him at Grays once or twice and he wasn't too bad.
Assisting will be David Bushell from London and Geoff Russell from Northampton and ex-paying customer at Roots Hall, Rob Whitton, makes the short journey from Chelmsford to take charge of the numbers board.
